With the recent announcement of the Batman/Superman movie, the geek world has been split asunder. Those familiar with the comics and animated series are used to the idea of the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight working together. Some pundits (and admittedly some of the former) question where the two heroes can really be partners. Can a troubled master detective really team up with a man who can fly and rip apart steel? I say yes, but the folks at Collegehumor imagine another scenario, and it goes something…like this… What do you think of the video? Would this happen…

Space is really big, and it’s common to forget that in storytelling. The tendency to write about vast distances as if they were just a few miles is common, especially in movies. Star Trek is more prone to these mistakes than other movies, because it spends so much time in space. Here are the seven biggest mistakes Star Trek movies have made about distance. NOTE: This list does contain spoilers for some of the movies described if you haven’t seen them. 1. The V’Ger Cloud (Star Trek: The Motion Picture) In the original theatrical cut, the cloud around V’Ger is…

Mythbusters’ Adam Savage is one of the crown princes of geekdom, so it’s hard for him to go to a big event like the San Diego Comic-Con without getting mobbed. His solution, like Rosario Dawson, is to wear a costume that hides his face. However, Savage never does anything small. This year, he showed up in an epic replica of Admiral Ackbar from Return of the Jedi. And yes, this time, it was a trap. Adam put out a lengthy article about how he and his friends put together the costume. He purchased a casting of the original mask, and…
