Would You Rather: Be a Jedi or a Time Lord?

It’s time for another round of “Would You Rather,” the game where we ask you the tough questions. Last week, the choices were split evenly between infinite knowledge, infinite reputation, and death with 33% each. Today, you’ll be choosing to become all-powerful, but which type of all-powerful?

    The Scenario:

At the San Diego Comic-Con, you find yourself in a deserted ballroom with only two people standing on the stage: someone dressed like the Doctor from Doctor Who and Obi-Wan Kenobi. They reveal that they’re not wearing costumes. They are the Doctor and the ghost of Obi-Wan Kenobi. They’ve come through a trans-dimensional vortex because they need help in their universes. If you agree to come with them, they’ll give you the power to become a Jedi or a Time Lord. Which do you choose?

    The Ground Rules:

    • If you agree to become a Time Lord, you’ll get a TARDIS, a sonic screwdriver, and the ability to regenerate nine times.
    • The TARDIS will allow you to travel through time and space to anywhere, anytime.
    • You can take any of the companions along with you.
    • If you agree to become a Jedi, you’ll get a lightsaber, an R2 unit, and an X-Wing fighter.
    • You will require no training – you’ll instantly have all the powers of the light side of the Force.
    • Since you’re a Jedi, you’ll have no dark side powers. And you can’t go to the Dark Side.
    • You can talk to Obi-Wan Kenobi for guidance at any time.
    • Okay, you can have two lightsabers if you want.
    • You can take on a Padawan to guide in the ways of the Force.
    • You can’t combine the two – no Jedi Time Lords.

Make your choice and tell us why in the comments.

Time Lord obviously, but why only regenerate 9 times when 12 regenerations are the limit for Time Lords? Also I'm assuming that in this scenario, The Doctor hasn't timelocked me into the time war.

Can I have a K-9 Mark I? Even if you told me no I would pick Time Lord. You took all the fun out of being a Jedi with the no going to the Dark Side. As a kid I loved Darth Vader Force choking people, but did not like the Master because he eventually looked like a walking corpse.

I'm going with Time Lord so that I could travel and learn to become a Jedi.

i the idea to leave my footprint in time and the ability to fix, mess or the chance to see anything.

    5. Alex J. Cavanaugh on July 24, 2013 10:26 am

Can I be a Q? Wait, that's not an option? All right, a Time Lord then.

    6. Pat Dilloway on July 24, 2013 12:50 pm

Jedi get a lightsaber. I don't even need to think about that.

    7. Sci-Fi Gene on July 24, 2013 1:33 pm

Key question to consider is, who gets the best companions?

    8. sal on November 9, 2013 4:37 pm

do i get time lord intellect or do i just know what i know now

    9. aero on July 16, 2015 3:54 pm
