Avengers: Endgame Encore has been pushed back into theaters, and the hype machine is running hot. However, most fans have watched Endgame more times than they can count. Avengers: Endgame is an incredible movie. There are thrills, chills, and genuinely heartbreaking moments. The first ten times you’ve seen it. If you’re like me and saw it three times in the theaters. Fans like me can quote the I love you 3000 scenes from memory. The Avengers Assemble scene gets goosebumps the first 100 times and then a soft smile after that.

Every twist is already committed to memory. Every twist is seen a mile away. Is it a great film? Yes. But even chocolate cake gets tiresome to eat for three hours.

Many movie theaters offer home delivery of their delicious popcorn, and you can drown your sorrows at Natasha’s death with a gallon of Coke.

But not every screening of Endgame Encore has extra footage. The sneak peek is locked behind that IMAX and Infinity Vision format. The average cost of these premium seats is $20-25. That adds up if you’re taking a family or even just your significant other. Do you want to watch this by yourself to save money? Then you might as well stay home.

That’s assuming you can even find a theater. Infinity Vision is a new format, and not every market has one. If you live in North Dakota, then it’s hard cheese for you. But let’s say you win the lottery and head to the theater.

6. The 2019 Crowd Magic Is Gone

If you’re hoping to recreate the loud cheers in the theater during the portal scene, your odds are stacked against you. That scene was a communal experience seven years ago. But it’s not a guarantee now. One Reddit user said. That one fan could be you.

Plus, those loud cheers could actually take away from your movie experience. According to Gizmodo, the loud cheers when Loki enters the room drowned out the dialogue. Do you enjoy people talking during the movie? Then you’re in the minority. Most people want to actually hear what people say. My wife never saw Brand New Day and was confused by the Hulk scene. The last time she saw Banner, he was “Smart Hulk,” with Banner and Hulk merged together. Why is he just Banner now? What is a gamma suppressor? Why is he scared of the Hulk? Watch a 145-minute movie to understand. What’s the TVA, and why are they talking about incursions? Watch 10 hours of television to understand.

This isn’t new to the MCU, but maybe you don’t love the MCU 5000. If you’ve been skipping movies and shows up till now, get ready to pay the price to watch four minutes of videos. Casual fans will leave the theater more confused than excited. Get ready to watch the new Heavy Spoilers video just to figure out why Owen Wilson is talking about incursions.

8. Tony Still Dies (Again)

The emotional gut punch from watching the movie still hurts. Honestly, the scene where Tony dies hits me hard because my mother died around the same time. I get choked up every time it comes on. I’m not crying in my Jujubes to see Mark Ruffalo whine about his problems. Plus, RDJ is back. Natasha’s still gone. Her Vormir sacrifice is still a tearjerker. It doesn’t get any easier.

But let’s be honest, if you’ve watched the movie a bunch of times, do you really want to sit through it again? One Reddit user said he fell asleep and woke up for the end credits. Plus, while Endgame was a highlight, the movies since then have been a letdown. Maybe you loved Brave New World as much as I did. But we can all agree The Marvels and Quantumania don’t have the same punch as peak MCU.

9. The Time Travel Rules Still Don’t Make Sense

The Russo brothers came up with a clever explanation of how time travel works, but it still doesn’t make sense. The kiss with Steve and Peggy has confused movie watchers for almost ten years. Now Loki knocks on the door and makes it even more confusing. Is he recruiting Steve? Pruning him? Giving him the winning lottery ticket numbers? We all thought he figured out the system. But it turns out it’s a problem for the TVA after all. The Ancient One vs. Hulk explanation hasn’t aged well.

Encore just adds more questions you’ll have to wait months to answer.

10. Your Money Is Better Saved for Doomsday

Money is tight for everyone these days. Doomsday opens in 84 days. You have to spend your money carefully. Doomsday is an event. It brings back Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. It has a massive cast. It brings back Joe and Anthony Russo to the director’s chair. It’s huge. Do you really want to spend ticket money on two movies instead of one? That’s assuming you’re not bringing your family of seven, including little Bobby and Whitney.

The Doomsday preview is going to hit YouTube in high definition a few days from now. Plus, as one commenter says:

Endgame Encore is being sold as a victory lap, and for some fans, it will be. To be fair, one IMAX viewer called the big-screen experience “incredible” (u/Academic_Composer904). Another fan said seeing it on the big screen was a blast, “way better than TV at home” (u/spacejam999). Even Gizmodo admitted grainy phone footage is no way to watch these scenes. They said, “no one likes looking at grainy cellphone footage of anything.” However, the new scenes have already been leaked, and the movie itself hasn’t changed.
