Who from Batman: The Animated Series is working on a new Batman? What would Green Lantern look like in a classic female cover pose? What Star Wars ship did one fan turn their car into? How would mixed-martial artists Gina Carano play Wonder Woman?

I’d love to hear what you think of the Internet’s greatest moments in this week’s “Geek Bits.”

By the Way… International Talk Like Batman Day

    Here’s how Geekosystem describes it:

A petition on the Internet is usually about as useful to a cause as doing absolutely nothing, but sometimes they can affect real change. That was the case in Kelowna, British Columbia when a local radio station petitioned the Mayor’s office to declare today, April 4th, “International Talk Like Batman Day.” For some reason the Mayor agreed, and we now live in a world where “International Talk Like Batman Day” is a real thing. It’s not the holiday we deserve, but it’s the one we need right now.

First, you have to choose a Batman. The point of the petition is to talk like Christaian Bale, but you could talk like any Batman today. Watch these videos and perfect your Batman voice.

    10. Gina Carano Talks Acting, Wonder Woman (The Mary Sue)

Wonder Woman is something people ask me a lot about, and that’s such a huge compliment. I can’t wait to see [Batman vs. Superman].

What I want to see in an action heroine, and in Wonder Woman, [are] the two parts I have in me. One is very creative, emotional, female, protective, with motherly instincts and sisterly instincts, but the other side of me is this really aggressive skill set. There’s anger and violence in there.

Hopefully what I’ll be able to do in the future in my characters is combine what a real woman is — which is both of those things. Men and women feel a lot of the same things. More often than not, women feel violence and aggression, maybe in the form of, ”How will I be able to lift this car off my baby? How will I be able to find my husband?” Or even, “How can I protect my country?”

    6. DC Entertainment Debuts New BRUCE TIMM BATMAN Animated Short Images (via Newsarama)

Together with Paul Dini, Bruce Timm set off nothing short of an animation revolution when he helped launch Batman: The Animated Series, and now after recently stepping down as lead producer at WB Animation, he’s come back to his roots with an all-new animated short centered on Batman. Debuting April 9, 2014 alongside the new episode of Teen Titans Go!, the short features Batman going up against Dr. Hugo Strange.

    2. Jack Kirby’s Heirs Have Only Just Begun To Fight – And Petition Supreme Court Over Marvel Comics Rights (via Bleeding Cool)

Law360 reports that the right for the rights to Marvel characters from Jack Kirby‘s heirs, courtesy of Toberoff, may be going to the Supreme Court.

    They state,

In a petition filed March 21, Jack Kirby’s children urged the high court to reverse a Second Circuit finding that Marvel owns the rights to franchises created by the renowned comic book artist, such as “The X-Men,” “The Incredible Hulk” and “The Fantastic Four.”

Glad they’ve dropped the Spider-Man bit. They add,

“The Court of Appeals unconstitutionally appropriated Kirby’s valuable copyrights and gave them outright to Marvel, effecting a transfer of wealth on a massive scale,” the petition states.

Jack Kirby never received a penny of royalties from Marvel over and above his page rate, creating comic characters and stories that have now many billions.

    Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. “Assembling a Universe”

Synopsis: Marvel’s first primetime television special documents the exciting story behind Marvel Studios and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, featuring exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes footage from all of the Marvel films, the Marvel One-Shots and “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Viewers will walk a clear path through this amazing and nuanced universe, featuring sneak peeks at the future of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” on ABC, new footage from Marvel Studios upcoming theatrical releases, “Captain America: The Winter Solider” and “Guardians of The Galaxy,” and a sneak peek at the upcoming Marvel’s “The Avengers: Age of Ultron.”

A fascinating insight into the making of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When you lay it all out you see the the huge gamble that they took and how it’s all paying off. The insights are great. Plus, we see some amazing sneak peeks of Avengers: Age of Ultron concept art.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (01×16) “Beginning of the End”

Synopsis: Agents Garrett and Triplett are back to help Coulson’s team track down S.H.I.E.L.D.’S nefarious enemy – the Clairvoyant. But will Deathlok destroy them all to protect his master’s identity?

An action packed episode that should be the feel of every episode. A supervillain. An action packed mission and real character development that doesn’t sacrifice the pacing. Deathlok has become deadly and is no longer just a good guy forced to do bad. He’s all bad. It’s great to see Agent Triplett back. Agent Garret is awesome and breathes a breathe of fresh air into the team. The twist ending is mind-blowing as the show heads for it’s final episodes.

    Arrow (02×18) “Deathstroke”

Synopsis: OLIVER’S WORLD STARTS TO CRUMBLE — Slade (Manu Bennett) makes his move against Oliver (Stephen Amell) and the repercussions are enormous. While Oliver scrambles to protect his family, a key player in his team starts to question Oliver’s decisions. Meanwhile, Isabel (guest star Summer Glau) makes her move to take Queen Consolidated away from Oliver. Guy Bee directed the episode written by Marc Guggenheim& Drew Z. Greenberg.Slade returns and is an amazing villain. The island flashbacks were pretty interesting for a change and tied into the episode well. Roy is learning archery, but totally flipped out and left. I’m assuming he’ll be back. Diggle gets some action for a change and it’s awesome. Slade’s plans are more far reaching than I thought and the stakes are a lot higher.

I need to watch that Arrow episode but I've been watching Game of Thrones this week before it expires.

    2. Alex J. Cavanaugh on April 4, 2014 3:10 pm

That was a great twist at the end of S.H.I.E.L.D.
      I want that clock.
And I bet Gravity would've been even better with Superman in it.

i want the han-moblie… i watched shield and fell asleep, in my defense i was laying down and my wife filled me in.. though i that might be the one who it was… still digging the show.

Gina Carano is kick ass and I think she'll do well as Wonder Woman. Although I personally still think Bridget Regan (from Legend of the Seeker) would be the perfect WW!

Love that Lilo and Stitch picture. That comic cover with the males in female hero poses is hilarious and does a good job of pointing to the absurdly sexualized drawings of female heroes.

    6. Melissa Bradley on April 4, 2014 8:40 pm

I love the idea of Gina as Wonder Woman she actually looks the part with her body, unlike poor Gal who is too thin. Love the males heroes in the female poses. The male artists always make females look ridiculous.
Love Agents of SHIELD. Not into Arrow at all. Stephen is not a good fit for the part. I preferred the guy they had in Smallville.

    7. DAVID WALSTON on April 4, 2014 11:48 pm

I saw The Winter Soldier last night, It seems that the TV show has some answers in the movie. I love anything that Bruce Timm does. Arrow is getting better the closer to the battle between Deathstroke and the Arrow gets. HULK SMASH ESCROW PAPERWORK! Too funny!

    8. Maurice Mitchell on April 5, 2014 3:38 pm

I'm seeing it today David! The Deathstroke battle feels like the culmination of the whole series.

    9. Maurice Mitchell on April 5, 2014 3:46 pm

Gal's working out but we'll see how muscular she can get. Female comic poses are designed to show as much T&A as possible even though it looks silly. I was disappointed by the Arrow recasting too but I think Stephen is a good fit for the character they're trying to make.

    10. Maurice Mitchell on April 5, 2014 3:46 pm

      A classic team!

That twist was mind blowing Alex!

    14. Tony Laplume on April 5, 2014 8:08 pm

A DS9 clock is hugely appropriate, given the sweet clock Sisko once made.

    15. MedeiaSharif on April 5, 2014 8:19 pm

I like Keaton's voice better than Bale's, although I like Bale better as Batman.

I love the conversation he has with himself.

    16. Maurice Mitchell on April 5, 2014 8:23 pm

It's very clever Medeia, especially whEn the commissioner says they're so different

    17. Maurice Mitchell on April 5, 2014 8:24 pm

      It's an amazing clock Tony!

    18. Maurice Mitchell on April 5, 2014 8:27 pm

It's funny the things that we accept as normal Tim.
