Star Trek Online: Undiscovered marks one of the biggest nostalgia-driven updates in years, bringing players back to the early Klingon War while modernizing one of the MMORPG’s classic storylines. The free update features a rebuilt version of The Ultimate Klingon, enhanced visuals, improved cutscenes, and the return of fan-favorite characters voiced by Robert Picardo and Lisa LoCicero. Whether you’re a veteran captain or returning after years away, here’s everything you need to know about the latest Star Trek Online expansion before it launches.

Star Trek Online’s next major content update has a name, a date, and two well-known faces. Star Trek Online: Undiscovered will be released on PC on July 7, 2026, with Robert Picardo reprising his role as The Doctor and Lisa Locicero as Lieutenant Miral Paris, the daughter of Tom Paris (Robert Duncan McNeill) and B’Elanna Torres (Roxann Dawson) from Star Trek: Voyager.

What Is Star Trek Online: Undiscovered?

Star Trek Online’s next big content update will be available on PC on July 7th, 2026! Undiscovered is the fruition of a long-held team dream, and we know you’ve been begging for it. Return to the Klingon War with an updated and rewritten plot for “The Ultimate Klingon.” This classic STO tale was once an important aspect of the Federation and Klingon stories, and it is now available for you to enjoy with fresh graphics, an updated story, exciting cutscenes, and more!

What Is Star Trek Online: Undiscovered?

Star Trek Online: Undiscovered arrives on PC on July 7, 2026. This free content update has been dreamed about for years. Thankfully, it is finally happening.

Players will return to the Klingon War with an updated version of The Ultimate Klingon. This classic Star Trek Online story was once essential to both the Federation and Klingon campaigns. Now it has been rebuilt with improved graphics, rewritten missions, cinematic cutscenes, and a stronger narrative.

Longtime players have been asking for this return for years. Fortunately, Cryptic listened. Nostalgia may sell updates, but this one also delivers meaningful improvements.

Star Trek Online: Undiscovered Release Date

Star Trek Online: Undiscovered launches on PC on July 7, 2026. Console players will have to wait a little longer. That part probably surprises no one.

The update fulfills a long-standing goal for the development team. Meanwhile, players finally get another chance to experience the Klingon War. The Ultimate Klingon has been reimagined with modern visuals, new dialogue, updated missions, and expanded cutscenes.

If you already own Star Trek Online, the update will be downloaded automatically through the game’s launcher.

The Return of “The Ultimate Klingon”

Back in 2010, Star Trek Online introduced The Ultimate Klingon. The story follows Dr. Amar Singh as he creates genetically enhanced Klingon super-soldiers on H’atoria. Players invade his secret laboratories, battle his forces, and stop the experiment before disaster spreads.

The storyline has now been rebuilt from the ground up. Fresh graphics, improved cutscenes, and rewritten dialogue have been added. Players return to the Klingon War as the Federation proposes a ceasefire to the Klingon High Council.

Miral Paris and The Doctor must be helped as support is gathered for President Okeg’s peace plan. At the same time, Miral’s role as the Kuvah’magh creates political tension. In the middle of the 23rd century, a minority of Klingons who worshipped the Kuvah’magh (which means “the savior of our people”) fled the empire in search of it in the Delta Quadrant. Because it wouldn’t be Star Trek without complicated diplomacy.

Additionally, the update introduces the limited-time Undiscovered event. Players can earn the K’vort Temporal Flight Deck Raptor. The ship appeared in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Lower Decks. Better yet, it can be customized to resemble its television appearances.

Robert Picardo Returns as The Doctor

Television still of Daniel Dae Kim as Astronaut - Gotana-Retz, Robert Picardo as The Doctor in the sci-fi show Star Trek: Voyager episode ''Blink of an Eye''

Robert Picardo has been keeping busy lately. He recently returned as The Doctor in Starfleet Academy. Now he is back again for Star Trek Online: Undiscovered.

His performance helps connect the game with the live-action Star Trek universe. It also strengthens ties to Star Trek: Voyager. Hearing The Doctor again never gets old.

Lisa LoCicero Returns as Miral Paris

Television still of Lisa LoCicero as Ensign Miral Paris in the sci-fi show Star Trek: Voyager episode ''Endgame'''

Lisa LoCicero first portrayed Miral Paris in the Star Trek: Voyager finale, “Endgame.” Miral is the Human-Klingon daughter of Tom Paris and B’Elanna Torres aboard the USS Voyager.

LoCicero is no stranger to Star Trek games. She previously appeared in Star Trek: Armada II, Bridge Commander, and Elite Force II. She also returned as Miral Paris during Star Trek Online‘s tenth season.

Her return gives additional weight to the Klingon War storyline and strengthens the connection between television and gaming.

    New Gameplay Features

Star Trek Online: Undiscovered includes updated missions, improved cutscenes, and a redesigned Deep Space Encounters system. Several quality-of-life improvements have also been added. As a result, returning players should notice smoother gameplay throughout the experience.

    New Event Rewards

The Undiscovered event offers limited-time rewards, including the K’vort Temporal Flight Deck Raptor. Players can also earn daily progress, Bonus Endeavor XP, and additional rewards by participating throughout the event.

How Undiscovered Fits Into Star Trek Online’s Story

Star Trek Online: Undiscovered revisits one of the game’s earliest story arcs while expanding modern STO continuity. The Klingon War is explored in greater detail, and classic missions have been updated for today’s players instead of being left in the transporter buffer forever.

    Why Longtime Fans Are Excited

Many classic missions have been restored with updated visuals and modern gameplay. Longtime players finally get the return they requested. Meanwhile, newer captains can experience one of Star Trek Online’s most important stories without wondering why veterans keep talking about it.
