Artist: Fernando Pasarin
Cover Artist: Michael Atiyeh, Brandon Peterson
Partial Summary:
ALL PEDAL, NO BRAKES
The Eclipso War left Wally West stopped dead in his tracks…but a brand-new
villain has emerged to wreak havoc on the Scarlet Speedster! An exciting
new story arc begins here!
On Sale: Apr 20th, 2022
Price: $4.99
Review: Some comics are about saving the world and some are just about people. This is just a fun comic book. There are some big ideas but at its heart, it’s just about two members of the Flash family getting to know each other and Barry Allen. Wally West and his cousin Wallace West, the current Kid Flash, travel the world stopping crime and eating Helado. The artwork by Fernando Pasarin is top-notch with big action scenes and hilarious facial expressions. The story leads right into the next chapter and is a fun break. Recommended
2. The Avengers #55
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Writer: Jason Aaron
Artist: Javier Garron
Cover Artist: Javier Garron, David Curiel
Partial Summary:
NIGHT OF THE PANTHER, DAWN OF THE HAWK
THE COMING OF THE NIGHTHAWK! Last seen during the events of HEROES REBORN, Nighthawk of the Squadron Supreme of America returns to the scene with a
dark and mysterious purpose. Is he friend or foe to the Avengers? Nobody’s
sure. But there are no such questions about the deadly new incarnation of
the Serpent Society!
LEGACY #755
On Sale: Apr 20th, 2022
Price: $4.99
Review: This issue is kind of muddled. There are great moments but it’s struggling to find its footing. Jason Aaron does a decent job of plotting and Javier Garron kills it with terrifying and striking visuals but as the team is broken down and reformed it’s hard to keep everyone in place. There’s a wonderful dynamic between T’Challa aka Black Panther and Kyle Richmond aka Nighthawk that shows the begrudging relationship between Squadron Supreme and The Avengers. In the end, the issue falls short though, and isn’t a must-read. Not Recommended

3. Nightwing #91
Publisher: DC Comics
Writer: Tom Taylor
Artist: Geraldo Borges
Cover Artist: Bruno Redondo
Partial Summary:
THE SOMMELIER OF DEATH
Trying to save a city that’s even more beyond saving than Gotham is no
small task, and even someone like Nightwing needs a day off to relax with
his best friend and to recharge—but when your best friend is Wally West,
a.k.a. the Flash, a “recharge” might not end up being so relaxing!
On Sale: Apr 19th, 2022
Price: $3.99
Review: Tom Taylor is one of my favorite comic writers and this issue doesn’t disappoint. The friendship between Nightwing and The Flash (Wally West) is what brings the story together and it’s great to see. There’s one part where Wally West adds the bad guys to his “list” for pointing a gun at Dick Grayson and it’s powerful. Nightwing’s detective skills are used in full effect. There’s plenty of action and dazzling artwork by Geraldo Borges and Adriano Lucas. Recommended.
4. Wolverine #20
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Writer: Benjamin Percy
Artist: Adam Kubert
Cover Artist: Adam Kubert, Frank Martin
Partial Summary: THE BRUTAL RETURN OF THE BEST THERE IS…WITH AN UNLIKELY PARTNER! DEADPOOL

Krakoa. WOLVERINE just wants him to shut up. But when Deadpool uncovers a
dangerous plot that could mean doom for the mutants’ safe haven, it’s going
to take a titanic team-up of the Best There Is and the Merc with a Mouth to
quell the threat. But that doesn’t mean Logan has to like it. Featuring
Wolverine and Deadpool at their most savage, as well as the return of a
fan-favorite X-character to the Krakoan era! (And no, we don’t mean Wade.)
LEGACY #362
On Sale: Apr 20th, 2022
Price: $3.99
Review: After the brutal events of the X Lives of Wolverine and X Deaths of Wolverine miniseries the creative team gets a welcome break to have a little fun with this issue. Pairing Wolverine with Deadpool is a fun idea that pays off in many ways. but it doesn’t quite hit all the marks. Adam Kubert’s artwork is good but not great and often lacks detail in the crowded panels. If you’re not a massive fan of Deadpool and Wolverine it’s not much fun. Not Recommended
5. Captain America #0
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Writer: Jackson Lanzing, Collin Kelly, Tochi Onyebuchi
Artist: Mattia De Iulis
Cover Artist: Alex Ross
Partial Summary: When Arnim Zola launches a catastrophic attack on New York City, he meets
his match—in Sam Wilson and Steve Rogers! In the explosive battle that
follows, two Captain Americas prove better than one, and Sam and Steve
decide they might just keep a good thing going… Tochi Onyebuchi (BLACK PANTHER LEGENDS), Jackson Lanzing & Collin Kelly (KANG THE CONQUEROR) and Mattia De Iulis (THE MIGHTY VALKYRIES, INVISIBLE WOMAN) kick off an incredible new CAPTAIN AMERICA saga—you won’t want to miss
what comes next!
On Sale: Apr 20th, 2022
Price: $4.99
Review: The recent Falcon and Winter Soldier miniseries thrust Sam Wilson into the spotlight as Captain America. The comics have brought All-New Captain America back as well. So it’s great to see a team-up between the “two” Captain Americas. The story isn’t complicated or deep as Arnim Zola hatches another ill-conceived plan to destroy America. The Serpent Society is rebranded as a bizarre religious cult. Mattia De Iulis’ artwork is breathtaking with his hyperrealistic style. Overall it’s a fun issue. Recommended

6. Hulk #6

Writer: Donny Cates
Artist: Ryan Ottley

SMASHTRONAUT! FINALE
The first arc of Donny Cates and Ryan Ottley’s mind-blowing Hulk saga will reach its epic climax as Bruce Banner’s

The new threat that emerges promises to smash the HULK mythos to its core
and will fuel Bruce Banner’s rage for the foreseeable future.
LEGACY #773
On Sale: Apr 20th, 2022
Price: $3.99
Review: The “Smashtronaut” storyline comes to an end with the bizarre end of “Starship Hulk” (Banner splitting the Hulk persona into several personas including a living starship. Donny Cates and Ryan Ottley’s ambitious storyline wrap up to an epic conclusion and sets up the next storyline including Thor. Ottley always manages to bring his a-game and he keeps what could be an insanely confusing comic clean and clear. But if you haven’t been following the storyline it’s just inexplicably strange. So if you’re going to read this one start with Hulk #1 or pick up the trade paperback. Not Recommended
7. Earth-Prime #2: Superman & Lois
Publisher: DC Comics
Writer: Adam Mallinger, Jai Jamison, Andrew Wong
Artist: Kim Jacinto
Cover Artist: Kim Jacinto
Partial Summary:
THE ANNIVERSARY
Clark Kent and Lois Lane try to celebrate their first wedding anniversary
but can’t quite seem to find their rhythm as heroics and reporting continue
to spoil the couple’s plans. Plus, learn the true origins of the evil
Superman from John Henry’s world!
On Sale: Apr 19th, 2022
Price: $5.99
Review: The Earth-Prime comic books are an extension of the CW Arrowverse of superhero shows. The comic features Clark Kent alongside his wife Lois and two sons. Adam Mallinger, Jai Jamison, and Andrew Wong are writers on the television show and are writing for the comic books giving them continuity. There are lots of Easter Eggs for Superman fans including the Nuclear Man from Superman IV and laser beard shaving from the John Byrne run of Man of Steel comics. It’s a lighthearted tale that explains why they’re still celebrating their first anniversary after more than a decade. Turns out something earth-shattering happened every year to Superman and Clark that stops them from celebrating. Story number two tells about how his adoptive father helped form his moral core including a moment when his father refuses to condemn him for risking his identity to save a young boy (much less a bus full of children cough cough). The last story is an alternate reality where Clark is adopted by an abusive foster family. “Controlled Burn” is a compelling Elseworld story. The stories are moving, fun and action-packed. The artwork is inspiring and lovely to look at. Recommended.

8. Trial of the Amazons: Wonder Girl #2
Publisher: DC Comics
Writer: Joëlle Jones
Artist: Joëlle Jones
Cover Artist: Joëlle Jones, Jordie Bellaire
Partial Summary:
TRIAL OF THE AMAZONS, PART 6
Cassie Sandsmark has discovered the culprit and is shocked to learn it is
one of their own. Justice must be served, but as tradition dictates,
nothing can interrupt the trial once under way. Now it’s up to the
Esquecida and their headstrong leader, Yara Flor, to take a stand for what
is right. The future of the Amazons depends on it!
CONTINUED FROM WONDER WOMAN #786. | CONCLUDED IN TRIAL OF THE AMAZONS #2.
On Sale: Apr 19th, 2022
Price: $3.99
Review: This comic is basically a whodunnit. Unfortunately, the story by Joëlle Jones makes the mystery fall flat. The mystery of who killed Hippolyta is jumbled, confusing, and unsatisfying. Jones’ artwork is well done, but she still needs to grow as a writer. It’s a far cry from her Eisner award-winning comic book series Lady Killer. Not recommended.

9. Shang-Chi #11
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Writer: Gene Luen Yang
Artist: Marcus To
Cover Artist: Sunny Gho, Leinil Francis Yu
Partial Summary:
BLOOD AND MONSTERS, PART THREE
BROTHER & SISTER REUNITED! Sister Hammer is back! But is she friend or foe?
Shang-Chi won’t have time to find out! He and his family are on a dangerous
mission to rescue his mother from Ta Lo, and they’re going to need all the
help they can get!
LEGACY #137
On Sale: Apr 20th, 2022
Price: $3.99
Review: Gene Luen Yang continues to embrace the wonderful wiredness of this story arc. The team dynamics are wonderful and the honor that he gives to his character and how it references Chinese mythology is inspiring. The story moves a little too fast but it moves at a brisk pace and keeps you reading till the final page. Shang-Chi’s grandfather Chieftain Xin and his Qilin Riders continue to be a major foe for Shang-Chi and his Five Weapons Society in the Tao Lo dimension. Marcus To’s pencil and ink work are crisp and he uses perspective well. Marcus To’s use of color really helps the artwork to pop with vibrant colors. Will they save Shang-Chi’s mother? Only time will tell. Recommended
10. Batman / Superman: World’s Finest #2
Publisher: DC Comics
Writer: Mark Waid
Artist: Dan Mora
Cover Artist: Dave Stewart
Partial Summary:
THE DEVIL NEZHA, CHAPTER TWO: THE DEVIL HIMSELF
The Man of Steel and the Dark Knight have arrived at the compound of Niles
Caulder—the Chief in charge of that strange band of misfits known as the
Doom Patrol—but all is not as it seems. While Batman works with Niles to
cure Superman of his freakish transformations, a side mission to track a
mysterious figure known as “the Demon” attracts the Dark Knight’s
attention…and moreover, it could have some connection to Superman’s
poisoning at the hands of Metallo! It’s danger, intrigue, and the surprise
appearance of Deadman in chapter two of World’s Finest!
On Sale: Apr 19th, 2022
Price: $3.99
Review: Another great issue by veteran comic book writer Mark Waid. The story picks up after the events of the last issue with Superman dying from Red Kryptonite poisoning. The story feels like two separate stories seamlessly connecting to one another. The dialogue between the characters is crisp and inviting. With fun lines like this exchange between Eliastigirl and Robin: “[Batman] smiles? It happens”. The characters are wonderfully balanced and truly embrace Batman and Superman’s friendship. The threat from The Devil Nezha and Felix Faust feels very real and drives you to the next issue. The artwork by Dan Mora and Tamra Bonvillain is exceptional and they effectively use varying panel layouts to build tension. Recommended
