This month, we’re running our Geek Madness tournament, pitting Star Wars vs. Star Trek in terms of characters. But another long-running debate is in technology. Can a lightsaber beat a blaster? Can the Death Star take out a Borg cube? This infographic tries to answer the question.

I'm gravitating towards Star Wars technology after reading all this.

I'd still feel safer with a phaser in my hand than a light saber. Less likely to accidentally remove my own limb.

    3. DAVID WALSTON on April 11, 2014 1:05 pm

I must confess…I love both, but Star Wars is my favourite.

    4. DAVID WALSTON on April 11, 2014 2:29 pm

I had predicted Luke Skywalker, but close enough.
      All Hail Lord Vader!

    5. Tony Laplume on April 11, 2014 2:46 pm

I think their conclusions could very easily be refuted.

    6. Alex J. Cavanaugh on April 11, 2014 4:02 pm

I had predicted Han Solo – nowhere near close!

    7. ravissary79 on April 13, 2014 11:54 pm

The thing is: the star wars tech is very poorly thought through. Really, that many MW for slave 1's cannons? Do they even know how much energy that is? It just seems like a random high number. But cube equals d-star? Preposterous.

    8. Tony Laplume on April 14, 2014 12:34 am

What? I don't know that! Ahhhh!

    9. MedeiaSharif on April 14, 2014 7:20 am

I'm not sure anymore. Both sides are awesome.

Where did they find the "facts" for this graphic. I'm a huge fan of both, and the specs seem to just be made up.

Now with the help of technology it is easy to make everything and the advantage is taken by the people. courseworkbox.co.uk

ST all the way. A few dozen Borg on an SD, game over Palpatine.
