Just in time for May the Fourth, Vanity Fair released a bunch of new photos of characters from the upcoming Star Wars sequel, The Force Awakens. The photos are shot by legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz. Not only do they provide tantalizing glimpses of the actors, but they also give us new details on the movie. Vanity Fair has the photos, but has been pretty diligent about keeping other sites from sharing the photos, so go here and here to see them. We’ll be using GIFs to illustrate them…because you don’t own those, Vanity Fair. You hear me? You don’t own…

In 2003, director Ang Lee created what seemed to be impossible: a movie about a giant superstrong monster smashing things that’s kind of boring. That was HULK. I actually liked this movie at the time, but it doesn’t hold up too well twelve years later. Especially compared to the awesome Hulk in the Avengers series. That’s why it’s about time to take a look at what the trailer would be like if it was honest, thanks to Screen Junkies. Of course, they didn’t mention everything, like the unnecessarily convoluted origin. I mean, genetic engineering and nanotechnology and accidental radiation? How hard is…

Since the announcement of Jared Leto playing the Joker in the upcoming DC comic movie adaptation Suicide Squad, there has been some skepticism. Isn’t Jared Leto too much of a pretty boy? Could anyone possibly play the role better than Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight? Well, the studio has fired a shot across the bow by releasing a photo of Jared Leto presumably in makeup as the Joker. And it is definitely not like any other version of the Joker we’ve ever seen. When Leto was announced for the role, he was known for looking like this; Not quite…

When it was announced that Spiderman would be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we were all excited. Besides the knowledge he would be handled properly and we’d never have to see anything like this again… It also held out the promise of what we all wanted to see: Spiderman joining the Avengers. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait to see Spiderman fighting alongside Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America, since the deal went through after they’d already finished Avengers 2. But Screen Crush is making all our dreams come true. The Sneaky Skunk created this clip using footage from the…

It’s also a very dark and often confusing episode, especially the ending. The episode…

Finn (John Boyega); Source: Disney/Lucasfilm Since the first official trailer for Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens, most of the attention of the fans has been focused on one question: what’s up with the black guy in the stormtrooper outfit? It turns out the character’s name is Finn, played by John Boyega, and he’ll reportedly be a major character in the new movie. Maurice wrote an entire article on the reasons why a stormtrooper might be black in the new movie, but one question remained. Is he really a stormtrooper or just a guy in a stormtrooper outfit? Well, with…

We’ve made no secret about the fact that I love the movie Daredevil, and think it gets a bad rap. But we can also admit it has its problems. That’s why we don’t mind Screen Junkies taking on the classic superhero punching bag. Witness the bad voice-over, excessive CGI, and crossed-eyed faces of the Man Without Fear. Although for the record, I also like Evanesence. What did you think of Daredevil’s honest trailer? If you enjoyed this, then please use the buttons below to tell your friends about this post! Another reason why Canada is awesome, besides universal health care, is their reaction to the death of Leonard Nimoy: defacing currency. The Canadian five-dollar banknote has a portrait of former prime minister Sir Wilfrid Laurier. A few years ago, it was discovered that drawing pointy ears, pointy eyebrows, and a bowl cut on Laurier made him look remarkably like Mr. Spock from Star Trek. This came to be known as “spocking.” In 2008, a Facebook page was set up to promote the practice called “Spock Your Five.” While this provided some amusement for Canadians, after the death of Leonard Nimoy, the…
