Would You Rather: Rescue Slave Princess Leia or Slave Marta the Orion Girl

Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher); Marta (Yvonne Craig)

It’s Tuesday, and time for another round of “would you rather,” the game that asks you to make the tough choices. In last week’s question, “would you rather travel through time or travel through space,” fifty three percent voted to travel through time. This week, it’s time for a daring rescue.

    The Scenario

You’re at your local comic shop, waiting for the clerk to come back with your special order, when you hear someone crying for help. You go behind the counter, and find a secret door leading into an underground chamber. Chained to the wall, you find Princess Leia from Star Wars and Marta the Orion Girl from Star Trek: TOS. They explain the comic shop owner kidnapped them from their dimensions, and is holding them prisoner. You don’t have enough time to rescue both. Which one would you free?

    The Ground Rules

    • Because of the complicated locks and chains, you can only save one or the other. Not both.
    • Whoever you free will be eternally grateful. You can’t send her back to her own dimension, so you get to hang out with her for a while.
    • Whoever you leave behind will be sold into slavery on the black market to unscrupulous geeks.

Make your choice and let us know why in the comments.

I'd save Leia because you don't know where that Orion girl has been whereas Leia's just been kissing her brother.

    2. Alex J. Cavanaugh on October 30, 2013 12:43 am

I'd save Leia. Green girls aren't ripe yet…

    3. DAVID WALSTON on October 30, 2013 1:15 am

Leia, the force is strong with this one!

    4. MedeiaSharif on October 30, 2013 7:25 am

      I'm not familiar with Marta.

I feel bad, but I'm picking Leia.

    5. jeremy [retro] on October 30, 2013 10:21 am

Leia, of course… that was my puberty years… now if it were yvonne craig as Bat-girl… 🙂

    6. He Geek She Geek on October 30, 2013 1:22 pm

Between these two characters, it'd be Leia. Now if it were Yvonne Craig as Batgirl? I'd unlock her first, although Batgirl most likely wouldn't need my help 🙂
But throw in the redheaded Orion gal from the Trek reboot and my decision changes yet again!

    7. Tony Laplume on October 30, 2013 1:51 pm

Sorry green libido lady, it's gotta be the princess. Then I'm all Han Solo-like.

    8. Tony Laplume on October 30, 2013 3:11 pm

I'm so excited for this series.

    9. jeremy [retro] on October 30, 2013 5:03 pm

      intrigued…

    10. Pat Dilloway on October 30, 2013 6:10 pm

It could be interesting. The problem as always for me is remembering when something is on. I totally spaced on Agents of Shield last night…if it was on. I never bothered to check.

    11. Meradeth Snow on October 30, 2013 8:42 pm

This looks really good–definitely something I'll be checking out, and praying they don't mess up!

    12. MPax on October 30, 2013 8:51 pm

I hope it's a good sci-fi. I'll watch with Karl in it. 😀 I also like the lead. Did they cancel Sleepy Hollow already? I hadn't quite made up my mind. Maybe I'm more patient than most folks. Because of Netflix, I'm now hooked on Arrow.

    13. Maurice Mitchell on October 31, 2013 11:29 am

It's going to be awesome Tony!

    14. Maurice Mitchell on October 31, 2013 11:30 am

Yeah,  it's a pretty rough world Alex. That partner is hilarious though!

    15. Maurice Mitchell on October 31, 2013 11:35 am

Karl is the big draw for me too Mary.  It's so surprising to see him working on TV! Yes, Sleepy Hollow is coming back so no worries there and Arrow is great.  Isn't Netflix awesome?

    16. msmariah on November 1, 2013 4:44 am

Ok, I guess this is really one for the guys to answer! I'll have to pick the green girl, but none of y'all are going to save her from captivity. Poor Marta.

    17. Jan on November 1, 2013 7:14 pm

The character is called Kennex, with a K. Seriously, when did fact-checking died?

    18. Maurice Mitchell on November 2, 2013 12:08 am

Good job catching the typo Jan! You get the "no prize."

    19. Maurice Mitchell on November 2, 2013 12:13 am

That'll be the challenge Meradeth. It could go either way

    20. Maurice Mitchell on November 2, 2013 12:21 am

It's not like the old days when can pick a day to watch TV Pat. The schedule is pretty crazy.
