Jeremy Renner, Marvel’s Hawkeye, May Be Crippled For Life

Jeremy Renner, who’s played the role of the heroic archer Hawkeye for over 10 years, may never walk again.
Renner first played Clint Barton aka Hawkeye in Thor (2012) before joining the superhero team in Marvel’s Avengers (2016). Recently the 51-year-old actor was in a horrible accident with his snowmobile. While fans and peers are praising his recovery it turns out there’s a dark side to the story.
One of Renner’s family members had their car stuck in three feet of snow on New Year’s Day. The Avengers star tried to use his snowcat to pull it free. According to reports the snowplow started rolling and he tried to jump in the driver’s seat to stop it. He fell and was run over by the 14,300-pound plow. Renner’s torso was pinned under the vehicle and his legs were mangled. He lost so much blood a neighbor had to make a tourniquet for his hemorrhaging limb. The actor was airlifted to a Reno hospital. Renner had difficulty breathing and was treated for his damaged leg and blunt chest trauma caused by the right side of his chest collapsing.
According to RadarOnline the injuries are more extensive than people realize. “Jeremy’s already had two delicate surgeries”, said a source close to the situation. “But there are serious doubts he will ever be able to walk right again — or at all. His loved ones worry the damage was significant enough to prevent him from moving the way he used to — that is if he doesn’t lose the leg altogether.”
Dr. Gabe Mirkin, who has not treated the actor, reviewed the medical information and said the star of the 2022 Hawkeye limited series may need to have surgically implanted rods to help his legs heal. But he said if the damage is as bad as sources claim Renner’s leg may have to be amputated. In a scary bit of irony, in the Disney+ show he stars in, co-star Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) aka Echo is missing a leg and wears a prosthetic leg.
The actor has won Academy Award nominations. First, he won the Best Actor Oscar for his performance as a soldier in The Hurt Locker (2008). Then, he won the Best Supporting Actor award for playing a quick-tempered robber in The Town (2010).
Recently Jeremy Renner posted on his personal Instagram account
Thank you all for your kind words. 🙏. Im too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.

It’s sad to hear so hopefully Renner has a full recovery and is back for season two of the Hawkeye series, starring Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, and Florence Pugh. It was partially based on the 2012 Hawkeye comics by Matt Fraction. Disney hasn’t given a release date or even announced plans to continue the series. The show was the lowest-rated of the Marvel Disney+ shows and got mixed reviews. But the show has promise and is connected to the upcoming Echo spin-off series.

But Steinfeld, who plays Kate Bishop, tweeted “It’s finally happening. All because of you…”

It’s finally happening. All because of you… 🎬

Disney also made a big marketing push to watch the series at the end of last year. Hopefully, Renner will be all healed up by the time they start shooting.
