CAPTAIN MARVEL Enlists KRYPTON Composer Pinar Toprak To Score via Comic Book Movie
“Heat Vision attended Captain Marvel scoring session last month, and saw Toprak at work at Warner Brothers’ Eastwood Sound Stage. Vibrant strings were mixed with state of the art synths to create powerful action sequences. The compelling melodies evoked images of a fierce battle, and quickly retreated to softer, emotional notes for a more personal moment. Toprak conducted the entire scoring session, then raced over to a panel for her other superhero project, Krypton. No footage of Captain Marvel was shown during the session, which featured a number of musicians as well as mixer Alan Meyerson, known for his work on Hans Zimmer’s superhero films such as The Dark Knight.”

Star Trek: Discovery Has Suddenly Changed Showrunners Again [Updated] via io9
Star Trek fans will recall, of course, that Berg and Harberts got the job when original showrunner Bryan Fuller left the project in October 2016, well before the show aired its first episode. According to The Hollywood Reporter, which broke the news, this latest change-up is “based not on the creative but instead for leadership and operational issues.”
So, what does “leadership and operational issues” mean, exactly? THR cites an unnamed source who reports that “Berg and Harberts became increasingly abusive to the Discovery writing staff, with the latter said to have leaned across the writers’ room table while shouting an expletive at a member of the show’s staff… After hearing rumors of HR complaints, Harberts is said to have threatened the staff to keep concerns with the production an internal matter.”

“All of a sudden, my character has the thing he wanted: the heroic good guy, the bad guy, and I get to be in the middle of them,” Jackson told Vulture about the 2019 film, which is being written and directed by M. Night Shyalaman. “It has a distinct satisfaction if you remember what his theory was all along, that there are people out here with extraordinary powers who can do extraordinary things. And it’s amazing to watch James [McAvoy] have an argument with four different characters in front of my face.”
