Did Simon Pegg Confirm Idris Elba Will Play A Klingon in STAR TREK 3?!

    Idris Elba

Will Idris Elba play a Klingon in Star Trek 3? On the podcast this week, we talked about the rumored casting of Idris Elba as the villain in the next Star Trek
movie. We love the idea since there’s never been a strong black villain in the Star Trek universe (unless you count Klingons).

Simon Pegg, who plays Scotty in the films, is writing the next
film. Absolute Radio caught up with him and talked about the pressure
of writing it and he talked about it, saying, “It’s enormous pressure.
I’m barely able to speak right now, I’m so terrified. It’s good. It’s
going well. We’re working at it hard.”

Then they asked him whether Idris Elba will play a Klingon in the film.
Pegg denied that Elba is playing a Klingon saying: “That’s not true. I
heard there’s a rumor he’s been spoken to about stuff — so he may be in
the film, but he won’t be a Klingon.” Then he laughed and said, “Or
    maybe he will.”

Of course, we know Pegg lied through his teeth about Cumberbatch playing Khan in Star Trek into Darkness,
so we know he’s full of it. In fact, in a bizarro world, maybe this is
confirmation! You heard it here first! Pegg confirms Elba will play a
    Klingon in Star Trek 3!

Do you think Idris Elba would make a good villain in the next Star Trek movie?

      I bet he's Klingon…

Idris Elba would be awesome no matter who, or what he played.

Well heck yeah… it's funny he has been in so many things and I just got to know him and he being a talented actor.

It would seem pretty obvious since they established Klingons in the last movie. They've already used Romulans and Khan, so what else is there? Though really he'd be a pretty bad-assed Ferenghi.

I really don't see the harm, but, just want to point out, I have never seen a movie with Idris Elba in it that was a good movie. Not saying he is bad, but off the top of my head: Pacific Rim, Prometheus, Thor; horrible films.

It will surely be more rewarding than being a random Norse god, one way or another.

You need to see The Losers. Great movie.
