Monty Python Live (Mostly); Source: YouTube |
It was truly the end of an era on July 20 when the surviving members of the legendary comedy troupe Monty Python performed their final show at London’s O2 Arena. Eric Idle, John Cleese, Terry Jones, Michael Palin and Terry Gilliam led the crowd in a rousing chorus of “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life” before lowering the curtain for the last time. The group says it’s their final performance together, which is more than likely, given all of them are in their 70’s. The only other member Graham Chapman died in 1989. Twenty thousand fans paid to attend the show, and for those who couldn’t attend, we got to watch the climax on TV.
What do you think of the end of Monty Python?

Always funny and yet very sad – the end of an amazing run. Thanks, Monty!
I always meant to watch them. I'll search for a movie of theirs on Amazon.
I never trust last shows. How many times has cher retired?
And now for something completely different…..
sad… at first i thought this might be a spam post, spam… spam… spam!
and the world sang… always look on the brighter side of life!
They've had nearly as difficult a time getting everyone together as the Beatles did. So it's always nice when they've managed it. They're still some of the funniest people of the last fifty or so years.
That's what i thought, but to be blunt, one of them is likely to die soon.
