Voyage Trekkers (2013) Draudis Pirate Ship. By Sigil FX, design by David Stipes. |
If you’ve been watching Voyage Trekkers then you already know it’s a hilarious sci-fi web series. So it’s with great sadness that we see another season end.
What’s been great about this season is that it managed to outdo last season in character development and special effects astonishingly high quality special effects. This is in no small part to the work of Visual Effects Supervisor David Stipes (davidstipes.com)who is already a legend for his work on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, Battlestar Galactica (original series), and Buck Rogers in the 25th Century.
Here’s the final episode of Voyage Trekkers as the crew of the GSV Remarkable square off against the pirates in deadly ship to ship combat. The official press release follows.
Voyage Trekkers Season 2 Concludes With Epic Finale
Voyage Trekkers,
the sci-fi comedy about the worst starship crew in the galaxy, ends
it’s season big with stunning visual effects and a sweeping score from a
live orchestra.
“We wanted to end Season Two with a huge bang,” says Nathan Blackwell, Creator and Director of Voyage Trekkers. “The
final episode features an epic battle between starships in a classic
sci-fi showdown. We really threw the kitchen sink at this one, with
four times more CGI ship shots than the rest of the entire season
combined, a score from a live orchestra, and placing the characters
where they’ve truly never been before … a life or death situation that
they can’t escape from, like usual. We’re really proud of this one.”
Voyage Trekkers is a scripted series of 10 episodes per season. You can connect with Voyage Trekkers on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Blip, and at www.voyagetrekkers.com.
