Overall Watch Star Trek: Lower Decks (2024): S5E09 – Fissure Quest
“Fissure Quest” is a fascinating episode of Lower Decks Season 5, with a mix of cameos and inside jokes. While it may feel hollow and empty in the series context, it is a huge smash with everything cast members and fans have been joking about for decades. The episode sets up an epic denouement with universe-ending stakes, and it is a distinctly Star Trek answer to the multiverse craze. CBS Studios and Paramount gave the team the resources necessary to complete this episode and maybe part 2 of the finale.
The episode included serious and humorous moments, such as Garak discussing being a tailor in certain universes and the Kims swapping Tuvix experiences. The episode looked amazing, with well-paced action, several new people, ships, and even an away mission planet. It is only part one in the series, demonstrating the team’s careful planning and execution of the episode.
