You’ll Be Haunted By the Lost Russian Spacecraft in KOSMONAUTA

There’s a conspiracy theory that Yuri Gagarin was not the first Russian cosmonaut, but only the first to survive and return to Earth. Some believe the Soviet Union had several previous attempts that ended with the death of the cosmonaut, and were covered up.

Today’s video “Kosmonauta” is a visualization of an actual sound clip alleged to be from a female cosmonaut in distress. The signal was picked up on a Soviet frequency in 1962 by the Judica-Cordiglia brothers and gave rise to the theory of the (lost) first female cosmonaut. This project was made by Mirjam Veske (Production Designer) and Nils Eilif Bremdal (Cinematographer). Accompanied by Thomas Grotmol (Editor) and Vegard Soldal (Sound Designer) and fellow students and friends, the film imagines what might have created this haunting recording.

Kosmonauta from Mirjam Veske on Vimeo.

It’s worth noting that there’s considerable evidence that the original audio recording is faked, since it doesn’t match the actual radio protocols the cosmonauts used, and the Russian spoken isn’t grammatically correct. But it’s still a cool video.

What did you think of the short film?

That's a lot more depressing version of Gravity.

Well, if the signal was picked up in 1962, it couldn't be a lost first attempt, since Gagarin successfully orbited the Earth in 1961.

To be alone, struggling in space, and facing death is chilling.

Effective hoax. Wonder if that inspired the writers of Gravity?

Quite frankly, I'm surprised that Tom Hanks hasn't already done something featuring the Russian space program. That's all I've got to say about that.

      That was cool.

I heard about this on 'Dark Matters,' a television show dedicated to the dark corners of history. Multiple people picked up this frequency in 1962 and heard this woman's last moments. So i don't think it's faked. I think the Russians likely sent this woman and several others into space, without hope of returning.

The individuals who are in recuperating callings know that it is so imperative to inspect nearly and manage the injury instead of simply covering it with a wrap and permitting it to putrefy. The force comes when we discharge the torment and enduring and permit the mending to start. http://www.mordocrosswords.com/2016/02/all-lost.html
