Warning: Spoilers for Space Ghost (2026) #9

    Review: Space Ghost (2026) #9

In Space Ghost #9, the team faces a new villain, Sorceress. She traps Space Ghost and his sidekicks, Jace and Jan, in mental scenarios that threaten their lives. Space Ghost imagines himself arrested and faces a torturous vision of mortality. On the other hand, Jace and Jan confront more introspective challenges. Jace sees himself as an emotionless survivor of his family’s destruction named Robochanic. Meanwhile, Jan is reunited with a twisted vision of her dead grandfather, Doctor Contra. This allows her to express her grief. This issue concludes the story from the first issue involving Doctor Contra. Additionally, Blip, the monkey character, plays a notable role. The comic reminds the readers that he’s an important part of the story, even though he doesn’t have much to do.

Writing Style and Readability of Space Ghost

Space Ghost is an easy comic to read and flows easily. The plot is complex, with the story jumping from one character to another. But Pepose manages to keep them all straight and focused. To be honest, I was confused about what was happening at first. But once the secret is revealed, it moves quickly.

    Immersive World-Building and Atmosphere

The world of Space Ghost is detailed and feels very dark. Considering the title is called Space Ghost, it fits well. I always enjoy it when the series introduces updated versions of the Hanna-Barbera characters. But the new ones work too.

Character Development and Plot Intricacy in Space Ghost

Space Ghost, Jen, and Jace all experience a vision that tests them. Each one faces their own demons. Space Ghost is confronted with his guilt over the death of Contra. Jan has to reconcile that her beloved grandfather is gone.

    Artwork and Cover Design

Lau does an amazing job with the pen and ink, as usual. The hero’s cape flows wonderfully, and his muscles bulge to an almost impossible size. But the character faces are expressive and emotional. Dalhouse’s colors are vibrant and moody. The cover pops off the page and challenges you not to open it.

The whole series has been wonderful, and this issue continues to be consistently worth reading.

Overall: Buy Space Ghost (2026) #9

Space Ghost #9 delivers an emotionally charged sci‑fi superhero chapter that blends introspection with high‑stakes psychic danger. The review highlights how the Sorceress traps Space Ghost, Jace, and Jan inside their minds, pushing each character through personal trials that deepen the series’ ongoing themes of loss, legacy, and character growth. Blip’s unexpected hero moment and the looming threat of the Time Master position this issue as both a transition point and a payoff to long‑running arcs. Strong artwork and expressive character moments make this one of the most impactful entries in the current Dynamite Entertainment Space Ghost run.
