The Beauty TV show arrives as a bold mix of sci-fi thriller and body horror, exploring what happens when beauty becomes power, currency, and ultimately — danger. Built around high-stakes mystery, shocking transformations, and sharp social commentary, the series asks a haunting question:

What would you risk to be perfect?

Below, we break down the plot, cast, themes, and cultural impact — plus why The Beauty is one of the most talked-about new series to watch.

The Beauty TV Show – Cast, Plot & Release Date (2026 FX Series)

Ryan Murphy and Matt Hodgson are the creators of the upcoming American science fiction body horror television series The Beauty. Starring Evan Peters, Anthony Ramos, Jeremy Pope, Ashton Kutcher, and Rebecca Hall, it is based on the comic book The Beauty by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley. On January 21, 2026, the series will debut on FX and FX on Hulu.

Plot Synopsis & Key Story Elements

When worldwide supermodels start dying away in horrific and strange ways, the world of high fashion becomes gloomy in FX’s The Beauty.

To find the truth, FBI agents Cooper Madsen (Evan Peters) and Jordan Bennett (Rebecca Hall) are sent to Paris. As they investigate the case further, they discover a sexually transmitted virus that, with horrifying results, turns regular individuals into visions of physical perfection.

The two go on an international investigation that spans Paris, Venice, Rome, and New York. Their journey puts them squarely in the path of “The Corporation.” He’s a shadowy tech billionaire played by Ashton Kutcher who has secretly created a miracle drug known as “The Beauty.” He will stop at nothing to safeguard his trillion-dollar empire, even if it means releasing his deadly enforcer, “The Assassin” (Anthony Ramos).

The series explores the extreme lengths people go to for perfection, corruption, and the dark side of beauty, all within a global thriller format.

    Cast & Character Breakdown

    Main Cast

    Evan Peters as  Cooper Madsen

Evan Peters plays FBI Agent Cooper Madsen. He is crucial to the investigation of the beauty-altering virus. Peters has teamed up with creator Ryan Murphy on several shows before. His casting strengthens their ongoing creative partnership.

    Rebecca Hall as Jordan Bennett

Rebecca Hall stars with Evan Peters as Agent Jordan Bennett. Her character teams up with Madsen to travel to cities like Paris and Rome. They seek the truth behind the mysterious disease affecting supermodels and others worldwide.

    Anthony Ramos as The Assassin

Anthony Ramos plays The Assassin, a mercenary working for The Corporation. His job is to protect business interests. He will use violence and skill to keep his employer safe from the truth about the drug’s origin. This character adds significant danger to the series’ storyline.

    Jeremy Pope as Jeremy

Jeremy Pope plays a character named Jeremy. He is an outsider caught in the chaos of the epidemic caused by a beauty drug. As the story unfolds, Jeremy interacts with key characters and uncovers the shocking truth about the drug and its origins.

Isabella Rossellini as Franny Forst (Recurring Role)

Isabella Rossellini plays Franny Forst in a recurring role. Details about her character are still under wraps, but her presence adds intrigue to the show’s mysterious world.

These main characters form the core of the series. Their interactions and conflicts highlight themes of beauty, power, and danger.

    Notable Guest Stars

The show will feature a variety of notable guest stars, including Bella Hadid, Rossellini, Ben Platt, Vincent D’Onofrio, Meghan Trainor, and more.

Premiere Date & Where to Watch

The Beauty will premiere on January 21, 2026, on FX and FX on Hulu. The first three episodes will be available right away. The remaining eight episodes will follow weekly in the United States. The series will also be released simultaneously on Disney+ internationally.

    Trailer, Visual Style & Tone

    Watch the teaser trailer below:

The trailer hints at a “big pharma billionaire with serious assets.” Ashton Kutcher plays this role. It also features “two agents undercover and between the sheets,” portrayed by Evan Peters and Rebecca Hall. There’s a “one-eyed wonder” played by Anthony Ramos, and a “psycho incel with a thirst for kink,” played by Jeremy Pope.

“Imagine a revolutionary super drug that makes any face drop-dead gorgeous,” the trailer suggests, “and everybody wants it.”

This stylish teaser is typical of Ryan Murphy shows. It features plenty of red and blue visuals. Rich people enjoy their wealth, wearing leather dresses. You see Venetian canals and masked gondoliers too.

Hadid plays “a fevered bombshell ready to explode.” In one scene, she tears off her coat to drink from a public water fountain. She’s left in a soaking-wet red crop top and matching high-waisted red leather pants.

The show is based on a comic book series of the same name. In this world, becoming beautiful is a sexually transmitted disease. The “pharma billionaire” antagonist links to GLP-1 mania.

Viewers have compared the trailer to last year’s body-horror hit, The Substance, featuring Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley. Though Hadid is listed as a guest star on the official FX website, her appearances in the promo are getting a lot of attention.

    Themes & Cultural Impact

The Beauty TV show explores how modern culture treats beauty as power, currency, and status, showing what happens when people chase “perfection” at any cost. The series blends sci-fi, thriller, and body horror to examine obsession, control, identity, and how social media pressure and cosmetic enhancement reshape our lives. Its disturbing transformations act as social commentary, exposing the hidden price of beauty culture and the way corporations and influencers profit from insecurity. Arriving at a time dominated by filters, AI face tools, celebrity aesthetics, and cosmetic trends, The Beauty becomes a sharp critique of vanity, capitalism, and impossible beauty standards, making it one of the most conversation-worthy new shows to watch.
