Discover which beloved characters could return in Ahsoka Season 2 — from Jedi legends to fan-favorite Rebels, here’s who might make a comeback.
The second season of the fan-favorite Disney+ series Ahsoka has wrapped up filming. The first season of Ahsoka left fans with plenty of questions—and even more excitement for what’s next. With the finale setting up new adventures across galaxies and teasing the return of familiar faces, anticipation for Season 2 is higher than ever. So, who might make a comeback? Let’s look at the confirmed and rumored characters we could see when Ahsoka returns.
Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson)

During the Clone Wars, Ahsoka Tano, a former Jedi Knight, was the Padawan pupil of Jedi Anakin Skywalker. Before the Empire’s rule altered the path of galactic history, Ahsoka was a well-respected commander and warrior who was sensitive to the light side of the Force. Despite leaving the Jedi Order, she remained an advocate for those battling for justice and peace in the galaxy long after the Republic was overthrown.
Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen)

Anakin Skywalker, who was found as a slave on Tatooine by Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, had the capacity to grow into one of the most formidable Jedi in history. Some even thought he was the Chosen One who was supposed to balance the Force. Skywalker’s drive to succeed and live up to his reputation drove him to constantly push the boundaries of his Jedi training, which frequently led to him clashing with Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, his instructor. Anakin was a Clone Wars hero who was kind and sympathetic but ultimately failed because of his intense fear of losing things.
Skywalker appeared in the first season of Ahsoka in flashbacks. He’s returning, but don’t expect much character development. During a panel for the show at the Star Wars Celebration, Filoni made it clear that he had no plans to retell Anakin’s story. The only reason he is included in Ahsoka is that he was her previous master.
“A very clear line I draw for myself is that Anakin’s story was already told. George [Lucas] did that. I don’t have to add anything to that,” he said. “I don’t have to explain anything about it. What George did is what he wanted, and it’s perfect. The story I’m telling is about Ahsoka. The reason why Anakin can be in this is because he’s relative to her story.”
However, after his flashback fun in the first season, Christensen has canceled his October convention appearance, suggesting that production may continue until the end of the month. This is a clear indication that Anakin Skywalker’s part in Season 2 is considerably more than expected.
Baylan Skoll (Rory McCann)

A lightsaber-wielding hired mercenary, Baylan Skoll is in charge of his apprentice, Shin Hati. Baylan is not a Jedi, even though Skoll once knew the famed Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker. Following the collapse of the Jedi and the Empire, Skoll is now partnered with Morgan Elsbeth, the former Magistrate of Calodan.
After the tragic death of Ray Stevenson, there were rumors that the character would be removed from Ahsoka. McCann’s role as the evil force-user for season two was only formally confirmed at Star Wars Celebration Japan last month. Rory McCann took over the role for the new season.
Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo)

Bordizzo took to Instagram at the end of September to announce she had completed her work on Season 2 after seven months in Richmond, England. The actress posted a behind-the-scenes silhouette photo of herself in costume as Sabine alongside Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano, hinting that the duo would continue to get up to all sorts of trouble in Season Two.
Some have speculated that the photo is a reference to the Mortis Gods. For those needing a refresher, the Mortis gods from The Clone Wars symbolize aspects of the Force: the Father (balance), the Daughter (light), and the Son (dark). They connect to the “World Between Worlds” in Season One, where Ahsoka encounters Anakin Skywalker. A fan noted a striking similarity between a photo and a mural from the Lothal Jedi Temple.
Actress for Sabine posted this pic last day on set and there is something very familiar about their poses hmmmm???

With Season one concluding with Baylan Skoll on a statue of the Father, Season two is expected to explore this Force mythology further.
Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead)

Graffiti artist and Mandalorian warrior Sabine Wren is a creative and rebellious person. Naturally independent, a teenage Sabine joined a tiny rebel cell run out of the Ghost during the Empire’s rule, led by the Jedi Knight Kanan Jarrus and Hera Syndulla, after defecting from the Imperial Academy of Mandalore. The Rebel Alliance’s emblem was inspired by Sabine’s distinctive starbird, which she left to sign her street art and other handiwork, as well as her flair for vibrant explosives and distinctively painted beskar.
She’s returning in season two.
Shin Hati (Ivanna Sakhno)

Shin Hati, Baylan Skoll’s enthusiastic apprentice, is skilled with a lightsaber and employs this ability as a mercenary working for Morgan Elsbeth, the former Magistrate of Calodan. Shin Hati was left stranded on the planet Peridea by her master, Baylan Skoll, who abandoned her to follow his own mysterious path for power. With him gone, Shin joined forces with a group of bandits on Peridea, where she resumed her hunt for Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger, setting up her role as a major antagonist in the series’ second season.
Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi)

Ezra Bridger was raised as an orphan on the streets of Lothal during the Empire’s era and was one of the few to receive Jedi training following the collapse of the Republic. His perspective and destiny were altered when he was introduced to the Ghost crew, a small group of rebels fighting back against the Imperial regime, even though he had learned to be cautious about strangers. Under the guidance of Kanan Jarrus, Ezra received training in the ways of the Force and joined the burgeoning rebellion as a Jedi Padawan. In addition, he became close to Zeb, Chopper, Hera Syndulla, and Sabine Wren, who became like a sister to him in his new family. Following years of dating, Bridger disappeared during the Battle of Lothal, vanishing into unidentified territory in a hyperspace leap that dragged Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ezra into deep space.
Ezra Bridger’s tale in Star Wars Rebels ends with him giving his life to defeat Grand Admiral Thrawn by sending him and his fleet into a distant galaxy using purrgil, which also freed the planet Lothal from Imperial control. In Ahsoka, Eman Esfandi played the live-action version of the character. He spent years in exile in the galaxy of Peridea before being discovered by Sabine Wren and Ahsoka Tano years later, when he had developed into a more spiritually mature Jedi without a lightsaber.
Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen)

Thrawn, the last Grand Admiral of the Imperial Navy to go missing, is a brilliant strategist who is as ruthless as he is crafty. Thrawn, who was renowned for researching his adversaries, including their art and culture, to obtain tactical advantages that his contemporaries frequently ignored, was called upon by the Empire when they needed a powerful commander to put an end to the uprising on Lothal.
Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ezra Bridger were banished by Purrgil during the Battle of Lothal through hyperspace to the far-off, extragalactic planet of Peridea in the season finale of Star Wars Rebels. Years later, in the live-action series Ahsoka (2023), Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) finally found his way back to his own galaxy with the aid of Morgan Elsbeth and the Nightsisters, eventually reaching Dathomir’s Nightsister homeworld with his army of Night Troopers.
Admiral Ackbar

One surprising introduction to the second season of Ahsoka is Admiral Ackbar, who dies years later in The Last Jedi.
Dave Filoni himself confirmed that Ackbar will return. “He’s going to go head-to-head with Thrawn,” he said (thanks, GamesRadar). He’ll be voiced by Elden Bennett, taking over from the late Erik Bauersfeld.
There is much to look forward to with Ahsoka season 2’s return of Ackbar. For one thing, the inclusion demonstrates the extent of the threat that Thrawn will represent to the galaxy. The battle that was barely hinted at in season two will probably intensify when Ezra Bridger and Hera Syndulla join forces with Ackbar and the other members of the New Republic’s military to engage Thrawn. Additionally, it provides Ackbar with an opportunity to shine that he hasn’t had since the first trilogy.
Chopper (Dave Filoni)

C1-10P, also known as Chopper, is a dependable astromech droid that has been with Hera Syndulla for decades. He is a battered, patched-up droid from the Clone Wars. During the Empire’s heyday, Chopper was a devoted soldier who served the Ghost crew in everything from ship maintenance to combat and secret operations. He also had a grumpy disposition to go along with his weathered exterior.
He first appeared in the animated series Rebels and was featured in live-action in the first season of Ahsoka. Filoni suggested he’ll play a more prominent role in the second season. “A lot more Chopper, and because of the way you guys are about it, he does some really messed-up stuff. I don’t know why he does these things! But they all seem to like it,” Filoni said.
Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios (Steve Blum)

A crafty Lasat honour guard, Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios, took up the cause of rebellion against the Empire. Despite his massive size, Zeb was intelligent and well-spoken. He referred to stormtroopers as “bucket heads,” but he still enjoyed fighting them.
“Because you guys asked for it and [Jon Favreau’s] been playing with him so much, and I want my toy back, we put Zeb in Ahsoka,” Filoni added.
During a sequence with Captain Carson Teva (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee) in The Mandalorian season 3, episode 5, Zeb Orrelios (Steve Blum) made his live-action debut. He will also reappear in The Mandalorian & Grogu by Favreau.
Huyang (David Tennant)

For eons, Huyang, an old robot with a sharp mind, was in charge of the Jedi Order’s lightsaber construction. His databanks, which contain a meticulous account of each lightsaber built under his direction, continue to be a storehouse of old Jedi knowledge even after the Republic and the Jedi have fallen. A legendary professor and architect, Huyang was stationed aboard the training ship Crucible during the Clone Wars, where he taught younglings how to make sabers as a part of their preparation to become Padawans. After the Jedi Order disbands, he remains active and survives the rise and fall of the Empire to witness the New Republic’s birth.
The return of the ancient Jedi droid Professor Huyang in Ahsoka season two was revealed by the concept art teaser. It appears that the beloved droid, who is voiced by David Tennant, will continue to help Ahsoka and Sabine on Peridea. In addition, he appears to be more involved in the action in the upcoming season than he was in the previous one, as evidenced by concept art of him fighting Shin Hati with four lightsabers in the General Grievous style.
