Explore the full Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026) cast—confirmed stars, rumored roles, and everything you need to know.
With the already sizable ensemble seeming to be getting bigger every day, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to feature both new and returning performers to the MCU. Additionally, it will be released on July 31, 2026, little over a year after The Fantastic Four: First Steps, marking an unusually long break between MCU films.
This should serve to boost excitement for the next Marvel film at a crucial moment for the MCU, and a year off should help some viewers who are suffering from superhero fatigue. It should also benefit from the fact that Spider-Man is the face of one of the MCU’s most prosperous properties.
It appears like Brand New Day will represent the street-level narrative that has mostly escaped the MCU’s Spider-Man, even though it takes place in the middle of the Multiverse Saga and right before the unquestionably cosmic Avengers: Doomsday. The confirmed cast is exciting, and the rumored cast even more so. So, let’s dig in.
1. Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man

Thomas Stanley Holland is an English actor, began his career at nine with dancing classes and gained a role in Billy Elliot the Musical in 2008. His film debut was in The Impossible (2012), after which he pursued acting full-time, featuring in How I Live Now (2013) and portraying historical figures in In the Heart of the Sea (2015) and Wolf Hall (2015).
Peter Parker / Spider-Man, a superhero created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, is a young man living in Queens, New York, with Aunt May and Uncle Ben. After being bitten by a radioactive spider, he gains superhuman abilities, which he uses alongside his spider-web patterned costume and web-shooter devices to fight crime. The death of Uncle Ben instills in Peter a strong sense of responsibility to use his powers wisely.
Holland reprises his role as Spider-Man in the upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which follows the events of No Way Home and focuses on Peter Parker’s efforts to combat street-level crime in New York City. The actor describes the film as a fresh start for his character. Despite a recent concussion that temporarily paused production, he is expected to return to complete filming. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige emphasizes that this film marks the beginning of a “proper Spider-Man” era, centering on Peter’s solo journey in a more grounded narrative.
2. Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher

Jonathan Edward Bernthal is an American actor best known for his role in The Walking Dead. He gained fame for his role as Frank Castle in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Bernthal has won multiple Primetime Emmy Awards for his guest role in The Bear. His film credits include Snitch, The Wolf of Wall Street, Fury, Sicario, and The Accountant 2.
The Punisher is an antihero from Marvel Comics, created by Gerry Conway and John Romita Sr. He employs violent methods like murder and torture to combat crime, motivated by the murder of his wife and children. A former U.S. Marine Corps Scout/Sniper, he possesses expertise in hand-to-hand combat, guerrilla warfare, and marksmanship.
Bernthal first played Frank Castle in the second season of the Netflix series Daredevil and later in his own series The Punisher. He recently reprised his role as the Punisher in Daredevil: Born Again. Feige emphasized this character aligns with the promise at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Peter is forgotten by everyone in his life, highlighting a classic Spider-Man approach. He also mentioned integrating street-level characters like the Punisher to complement this direction.
3. Tramell Tillman as TBA

Tramell Tillman, born in 1985, is an American actor known for his role as Seth Milchick in the Apple TV+ series Severance. He received his first Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2025.
We don’t know who he’s going to play. But there’s speculation that he might play an alternate version of Norman Osborn / Green Goblin or The Daily Planet editor-in-chief Robbie Robertson.
4. Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones

Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman is an American actress and singer, known for her two Primetime Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award. Born in Oakland, California, she began her career as a child model and backup dancer. She made her television debut as Rocky Blue in Shake It Up and starred in K.C. Undercover. Zendaya has also appeared in films like Spider-Man: Homecoming, Euphoria, and Dune. Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson first appears in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie Spider-Man: Homecoming. She’s based on Mary Jane “MJ” Watson, a recurring love interest of Spider-Man. MJ is portrayed as a snarky classmate and helps Peter Parker capture villains from the multiverse.
However, her romantic involvement is undone due to a spell that erases the world’s memory of Parker’s civilian persona. Because the movie draws inspiration from Marvel’s “Brand New Day” and “One More Day” storylines, speculation centers on MJ’s memories of Peter: some believe she won’t remember their relationship, while others think the film will explore Peter trying to restore it. Insider chatter also claims MJ will still play a significant role, though unverified. Overall, she’s expected to appear, but possibly with a “memory-wiped love interest” arc rather than her earlier dynamic.
5. Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk

Mark Alan Ruffalo is an American actor celebrated for roles in films and TV shows, notably as Bruce Banner in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and has received multiple Academy Award nominations. The Hulk, a character created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, suffers from dissociative identity disorder, transforming from the scientist Bruce Banner into the Hulk, a powerful entity driven by anger. Ruffalo’s portrayal spans the MCU from The Incredible Hulk (2008) to She-Hulk (2022), revealing Banner’s journey from a fugitive to a mentor and evolving into Smart Hulk in Endgame.
The narrative hints at future developments involving Skaar and possible connections to Peter Parker’s identity, despite the limited prior interactions between Spider-Man and Hulk on screen.
6. Sadie Sink as TBA

Sadie Elizabeth Sink is an American actress known for her roles in theater, film, and television. She began her acting career in theater with roles in Annie and The Audience. She gained fame in Netflix’s Stranger Things, Fear Street, All Too Well, and The Whale. In 2025, she returned to Broadway, earning a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a Play.
Rumors about Sadie Sink’s role in this movie include her playing Mayday Parker (Tobey Maguire’s daughter), an alternate Gwen Stacy, Jean Grey, or Black Cat. None are confirmed, and producers have kept details secret. Fan speculation leans toward a multiversal version of Gwen Stacy fitting the film’s storyline.
7. Melanie Scrofano as TBA

Canadian actress Melanie Neige Scrofano is known for her roles in Wynonna Earp, Ready or Not, and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Born in Ottawa, she began modeling at 13 and began acting when her agent began submitting her for roles.
Melanie Scrofano is confirmed to be part of the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but her specific role remains undisclosed. Fans speculate she could potentially play Silver Sablinova, aka Silver Sable, a character who has connections with the Punisher in the comics, though this has not been officially confirmed. Both Silver Sable and The Punisher are vigilantes, which could create common ground or conflict in a shared narrative. Scrofano shared her excitement about working on the film via social media, but has not revealed details about her character. This will mark her first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
8. Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion

Michael Mando, a Canadian actor, has starred in various films and TV series, including Better Call Saul, Far Cry, and Orphan Black. He’s a two-time Canadian Screen Award and Screen Actors Guild Award nominee.
Mac Gargan is a supervillain who first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #19. Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, Gargan is a recurring antagonist of Spider-Man. He was hired by J. Jonah Jameson to learn how Parker took Spider-Man pictures. Jameson turned Gargan into a deadly adversary, leaving him with scorpion-themed armor and predatory instincts. He served as the third host of the Venom symbiote and a member of the Dark Avengers. Michael Mando first played Mac Gargan in Spider-Man: Homecoming. He returns as Gargan in Brand New Day, confirmed by both Marvel and Mando himself.
He reportedly dons a comic-accurate Scorpion suit and plays a substantial part in the film, though he isn’t the main villain. There’s strong speculation he could become Venom, echoing storylines from the comics where Gargan merges with the symbiote. That said, it’s great that they’re finally paying off Scorpion’s MCU setup from Homecoming.
9. Liza Colón-Zayas as TBA

Liza Colón-Zayas, born in 1972, is an American actress and playwright known for her role as Tina Marrero in The Bear, winning the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2024.
No details have been released about what character Colón-Zayas is playing. However, there have been a few characters suggested. Rumors suggest she could play a new maternal figure for Peter. Since she’s Puerto Rican, she could be cast as Miles Morales’ mother, Rio, or a college professor. These theories are speculative, with no official details yet released about her character.”
10. Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds

Jacob Batalon, born on October 9, 1996, is an American actor famous for his portrayal of Ned Leeds in several Marvel Cinematic Universe films. He has also appeared in The Daily Bugle web series, the Netflix film Let It Snow, and the Syfy series Reginald the Vampire. Batalon hails from Honolulu, Hawaii, with Filipino immigrant parents. In the comics, Ned Leeds is associated with the Hobgoblin character, having been initially thought to be the first Hobgoblin and later depicted as a brainwashed stand-in for Roderick Kingsley.
Recent storylines suggest the possibility of Ned becoming a sorcerer and eventually the Hobgoblin. Batalon has reprised his role in various Spider-Man films, with speculations about a potential darker portrayal of Ned, including a villainous turn, supported by his social media activity and his openness in interviews about the character’s evolution.
11. Marvin Jones III as Alonzo Thompson “Lonnie” Lincoln/Tombstone

Marvin Jones III is an American rapper known as Krondon, part of the group “Strong Arm Steady.” His first acting role was in a 2011 episode of Harry’s Law. He later appeared in Shadow Force (2025) and the second season of Halo. Since his first appearance in Marvel Comics’ The Spectacular Spider-Man #139, published in April 1988, Tombstone, a massive, nearly unbreakable New York crime lord, has gained popularity as a Spider-Man villain.
Jones voiced the Albino supervillain in the film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018). He’s set to reprise his role for Brand New Day.
12. Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova (Rumored)

Florence Pugh is an accomplished English actress recognized for her performances in films such as Lady Macbeth (2016) and Little Women (2019), for which she has received various accolades, including a British Independent Film Award and three BAFTA Awards. Her portrayal of Yelena Belova, a character from Marvel Comics who originated in 1999, brought her to the MCU in the film Black Widow (2021), with further appearances in the Disney+ series Hawkeye (2021) and Thunderbolts (2025). Yelena Belova, originally trained as an assassin in the Red Room, has become a prominent figure in the comics, associated with teams like S.H.I.E.L.D. and later the Thunderbolts.
While her casting hasn’t been confirmed by the studio, several industry insiders have suggested she’ll appear. Daniel RPK claims Pugh has been cast to reprise Yelena in Brand New Day. If she does appear, it might just be a cameo rather than a lead role. But considering she’s leading the “New Avengers,” one theory is that she appears in BND to recruit him for the team.
13. Marisa Tomei as Aunt May Parker (Rumored)

Marisa Tomei is an American actress known for her comedic performances in My Cousin Vinny, The Wrestler, and A Different World. Tomei has also portrayed May Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man: No Way Home. Maybelle Parker-Jameson, also known as Aunt May, is often associated with Spider-Man.
Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, she is the widow of Ben Parker and the paternal aunt of Peter Parker, who leads a secret life as Spider-Man. May is known for supporting Peter and occasionally suspecting his identity. Marisa Tomei first played Aunt May in Civil War and the following Spider-Man movies. She was killed by the Green Goblin in No Way Home.
There are rumors about Marisa Tomei in Brand New Day, suggesting Aunt May, aged 60 at her in-film death, could appear via flashbacks or hallucinations. Set photos of her gravestone show her being born in 1964 and dying in 2024. While set photos confirm her age aligns with Tomei’s real life, her actual involvement in the movie remains unconfirmed.
The title of the movie is similar to a comic book storyline from 2007. A quick recap for the uninitiated: “One More Day” is a comic book storyline where Mephisto (a.k.a. the Devil) makes a deal with Spider-Man to save his dying aunt, who had been shot at the tail end of “Civil War” (2005). Unlike most deals with the Devil, this one was not for our boy Peter’s soul. Instead, in exchange for his aunt’s life, Mephisto would make it so that Peter and MJ had never gotten married. This story takes place over four issues, and they both agonize over the decision. Considering the plot of the comic storyline involves reviving Aunt May from the dead, she may return.
14. J. K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson (Rumored)

Jonathan Kimble Simmons is an American actor with over 200 credits since his 1986 debut. He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for Whiplash (2014) and was nominated again for Being the Ricardos (2021). He is well-known for his role as J. Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy and has featured in various Marvel media.
Jameson, created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, is the editor-in-chief of the fictional newspaper The Daily Bugle in New York City. He frequently disparages Spider-Man, viewing him as a threat, while utilizing photos from journalist Peter Parker, unaware of their connection. J. K. Simmons portrays Jameson, first in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy and later in a modernized role in Far From Home and No Way Home. The casting is still unconfirmed, but Daniel “RPK” Richtman claims that his casting is certain.
15. Angourie Rice as Betty Brant (Rumored)

Angourie Isabel Teresa Rice is an Australian actress known for her roles in The Nice Guys, These Final Hours, and Spider-Man: Homecoming. She won the AACTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in Ladies in Black (2018) and starred in Mean Girls in 2024.
Elizabeth “Betty” Brant-Leeds is a fictional character in Marvel Comics, known for her role as the personal secretary of J. Jonah Jameson at the Daily Bugle and as a supporting character and love interest for Peter Parker. She later became a reporter and the girlfriend of Flash Thompson. Brant has been featured in various media adaptations, including feature films, television series, and video games, with notable appearances in various series. Once again, her casting is unconfirmed, but insiders have said she’ll appear as a “one-time temporary love interest” in the movie.
16. Tony Revolori as Agent Venom (Rumored)

Anthony Revolori, born in Anaheim, California, is an American actor and comedian known for his roles in films like The Grand Budapest Hotel, The French Dispatch, and Asteroid City, and as Flash Thompson in Homecoming and No Way Home.
Eugene “Flash” Thompson is a Marvel Comics character who initially appeared in Amazing Fantasy #15. He bullies his classmate Peter Parker but admires Spider-Man. After college, Flash joins the Army but becomes haunted by combat experiences. After losing both legs in the Iraq War, he bonds with a symbiote and becomes Agent Venom and later Agent Anti-Venom. Revolori’s Flash Thompson has appeared in all three MCU Spider-Man films. In No Way Home, Flash was accepted into MIT. While he has appeared in previous MCU Spider-Man films, there’s no announcement about his return. Revolori has expressed interest in developing Flash into Agent Venom, but this is just speculation right now.
17. Sasha Baron Cohen as Mephisto (Rumored)

Sacha Baron Cohen is a renowned English actor and comedian, celebrated for his satirical personas such as Ali G and Borat. He has garnered multiple awards, including BAFTA and Golden Globe accolades, and has been nominated for Academy and Emmy Awards. Starting his career on The 11 O’Clock Show, he has featured in productions like The Spy and Ironheart.
Meanwhile, Mephisto, a Marvel Comics character introduced in 1968, is inspired by the legend of Faust’s demon. He frequently opposes heroes like Silver Surfer and Spider-Man, and his anticipated appearance in upcoming Marvel films. He hasn’t been confirmed, but the character plays a huge part in the comics. It would be weird for him not to appear.
The newest Spider-Man movie sounds like it’s going to be amazing, and the cast will be the most epic so far.
