    Recap Invasion (2025): S3E03 – “Infinitas”

As we open episode 3, we see a suburban neighborhood in Boise, Idaho, where a block party is getting set up. Aneesha Malik (Golshifteh Farahani) assists another woman with food, while Ryder Evans (Olivia-Mai Barrett), who tries some dips, joins her. Clark Evans (Enver Gjokaj) plays basketball as his daughter, Sarah Malik (Tara Moayedi), calls for him, wanting a turtle. Luke Malik’s (Azhy Robertson) awful cover band, “New Alienz,” performs to cheers. Ryder asks about more dips, prompting Aneesha to accompany her to the kitchen, where they discuss Ryder’s ambition to enter medical school. She advises her to enjoy college. Their conversation pauses when Trevante Cole (Shamier Anderson) and Jamila Huston (India Brown) arrive at the door.

Ryder watches Sarah and her friend as the party wraps up, while Trevante, Jamila, Aneesha, Clark, and Luke talk inside. Trevante and Jamila show Luke Casper’s brain activity printout, which Aneesha finds puzzling. Jamila expresses skepticism about the WDC doctors’ explanation for the anomalous readout. Luke, uninterested, leaves to join his friends. Clark reveals data about a portal leak related to frequency readings similar to Casper’s just before Trevante returned, prompting Jamila to research Infinitas meetings on message boards. Trevante decides to attend a meeting in Baker City the next day, though Aneesha warns of potential dangers.

That night, Aneesha reminds Clark of their agreement to avoid the groups formed after The Movement’s dissolution, but Clark claims he is merely idly web-surfing for comfort. Meanwhile, in the motel, Jamila discovers Trevante alone in a room he’s trashed; he refuses her help and they argue, leading her to retreat. Aneesha, unable to sleep, finds Luke in the dining room. He is looking at a page of his doodles of frequency charts from the day Trevante came back through the portal. He’s upset and reveals he lied to Trevante because he wants to maintain the normalcy of their happy life. Aneesha reassures him that she will handle the situation and that he is not at fault.

Aneesha visits Trevante in the morning, offering to drive him to Baker City to keep a low profile. While Trevante prepares, Jamile comes out and asks the doctor about Trevante’s troubling behavior the previous night. Despite Aneesha’s concerns about potential self-harm, Jamile downplays them, stating he would only damage furniture. Trevante then invites Jamile in, but ultimately insists she stay behind while he and Aneesha go to investigate. After some resistance, he locks Jamile in and departs with Aneesha

Meanwhile, at Portal Base 11, Nikhil Kapur (Shane Zaza) and Mitsuki Yamato (Shioli Kutsuna) gain access using Nikhil’s connection while hiding from patrols. Mitsuki brandishes a switchblade, indicating her defiance, and says they won’t take her alive again.

At the same time, Aneesha and Trevante arrive at an Infinitas meeting. They discover tables with dealers of weaponry inside. She notices a table supporting the arrest and detention of those who are sensitive to the alien frequencies, such as he sone. Chaos erupts as they are recognized, leading to Trevante being threatened by a militant crowd. They barely escape, and as they leave, Trevante says they should cut ties. Surprisingly, Aneesha receives a message from Infinitas with details for their next meeting.

Back in the portal room, Mitsuki hacks the system, but experiences an attack as a patrol enters, forcing her and Nikhil to hide. Afterward, she senses something getting “stronger.” Meanwhile, Aneesha and Trevante arrive at a parking lot and are greeted by a sweet soccer mom named Debbie, who instructs them to leave their phones behind before driving them to a large house. Inside, they are questioned about Trevante’s ties to the WDC, as their trustworthiness will determine their access to another vehicle for reaching Infinitas.

Next, Aneesha and Trevante discuss a printout of a data leak with Infinitas group leaders, revealing a frequency spike linked to hunter-killers. Suddenly, Trevante experiences a traumatic flashback to the mothership. But before he can process it, the FBI bursts in, arrests the group, and takes Trevante, who is incoherently mentioning something in the walls.

But before he can process it, the FBI bursts in, arrests the group, and takes Trevante, who is incoherently mentioning something in the walls.

Mitsuki manages to copy 96 percent of her desired files before the base’s security arrives. As Nikhil attempts to reason with the commanding officer, Mitsuki experiences intense pain and screams, causing the portal hatch to bulge. When the hatch bursts open, alien plant tendrils emerge, impervious to gunfire, pushing back soldiers while Mitsuki loses consciousness. Nikhil carries her to safety. Meanwhile, evacuation zones are announced around portal sites, prompting concern among Luke, Ryder, and Sarah, who await news about their mother and discuss Trevante’s whereabouts with Jamila.

    Overall: Watch Invasion (2025): S3E03 – “Infinitas”

Watch the Invasion episode “Infinitas” because it delivers suspense and emotional weight.

Invasion’s latest episode maintains a slow pace while hinting at upcoming action. Despite the suspense and family drama, the episode suffers from poor writing and questionable plot developments. Key characters, including Trevante Cole, encounter improbable situations, such as Mitsuki sneaking aboard the base undetected.

The episode ends with Trevante captured by the WDC, leaving a pretty good cliffhanger. There’s room for improvement in the next episodes, since the series had previously demonstrated its ability to deliver compelling storytelling with the reemergence of aliens, despite mixed narrative developments regarding major characters.

I’m giving this episode 3 out of 5 stars since it’s slow but still delivers a compelling story.
