Blumhouse has unveiled the first complete teaser for M3GAN 2.0, which was teased at CinemaCon yesterday. The plot of the robot killer will only grow more bizarre in round two.

In the latest trailer, M3GAN (voiced by Jenna Davis and portrayed by Amie Donald) is brought back to life to face a new threat, putting Gemma (Allison Williams), her creator, and Gemma’s niece Cady (Violet McGraw) in jeopardy: a new, sophisticated killer A.I. codenamed Amelia that was created using M3GAN’s original blueprints by a weapons manufacturer. She’s played by Ahsoka’s Ivanna Sakhno. Like M3GAN, she’s gone rogue. Gemma must now assist in giving her creation a gorgeous, long-legged upgrade so she may have the mother of all mother-offs with her new robo-rival.
“Two years after M3GAN, a marvel of artificial intelligence, went rogue and embarked on a murderous (and impeccably choreographed) rampage and was subsequently destroyed, M3GAN’s creator Gemma (Allison Williams) has become a high-profile author and advocate for government oversight of A.I. Meanwhile, Gemma’s niece Cady (Violet McGraw), now 14, has become a teenager, rebelling against Gemma’s overprotective rules,” Universal Pictures said in its synopsis.
With a dramatic trailer cut of the Britney classic “Oops! I Did It Again” and numerous references to a meta-acknowledgement of M3GAN’s viral dancing legacy, the new trailer—which appears to show you a lot of the film—is appropriately ridiculous and suggests that the film will be entertaining due to the crazy direction this franchise is taking. From sci-fi action shenanigans reminiscent of Alita: Battle Angel to intense horror doll vibes? Yes!
On June 27, M3GAN 2.0 opens in theaters.
