Countless behind-the-scenes photos of Superman captured by spies on site have taken over social media, showcasing Clark Kent / Superman (David Corenswet) in his colorful new outfit for the first time outside of the official intro picture, which you can see above. Filming for the project is taking place in Cleveland, Ohio. Reporters from the area documented behind-the-scenes activities.
James Gunn has stated that he doesn’t care about these leaks and that they aren’t even major spoilers on his favorite social networking site, Threads. In response to the question of whether the shots had “irrevocably spoiled” the film, he stated: “Not in the slightest. I would never film a major spoiler in the middle of the city outside.”
A few elements are seen in the pictures, including Superman getting ready to take off and performing a “hero point,” which suggests the character’s anticipated lighter tone:

Apart from Snyder devotees, fans who believe that going back to a more traditional, cheerful version of the character is the right course have reacted favorably to these set shots. They’re the complete opposite of the gloomy and frequently angry Superman played by Henry Cavill in the DCEU. It also appears that these set shots will establish a tone for the new DCU. Gunn’s comedic sensibilities are evident in all three Guardians of the Galaxy films, as well as in Suicide Squad and Peacemaker. Naturally, yet, the “heart” is also what connects everything.
The new Superman movie will hit theaters on July 11, 2025, which is almost precisely one year away. Numerous heroes and villains appear in it, including the iconic Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult), Perry White (Wendell Pierce), Jimmy Olsen (Skyler Gisondo), Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan), Kara Zor-El / Supergirl (Milly Alcock), and Clark. However, there are also surprising and somewhat sporadic characters like Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), Guy Gardner / Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion), Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi), and Angela Spica / The Engineer (María Gabriela de Faría). We are not aware of, including Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, or Aquaman. The final three will not, in reality, be introduced in any confirmed projects yet; the only exception is Batman: The Brave and the Bold, in which neither he nor Robin has been cast. One film that branches off of this is a Supergirl picture starring Milly Alcock from House of the Dragon.
Under Gunn, who has achieved either enormous financial success (Guardians of the Galaxy) or quality success (The Suicide Squad) in his previous superhero attempts, it will be an intriguing time for DC. We’ll see how Superman does in the upcoming year. I can’t wait to see it even more after these photos!
