Finn Jones Believes Heroes for Hire and Iron Fist Are Prepared for the MCU

Similar to Charlie Cox, Vincent D'Onofrio, and other actors who came before him, Jones is eager to have another opportunity to portray his Marvel Netflix role while working with the MCU.

Studios have brought back former superhero actors to play their original parts in modern times. Marvel is a prime example of this, thanks to its Multiverse Saga and its incredibly potent nostalgia. Given that Netflix stars Daredevil and Kingpin can appear in the new MCU series, it stands to reason that anyone could return. Regarding his character, Iron Fist, Finn Jones is looking for precisely that.

Who are the Heroes for Hire?

For those who don’t know, here’s the “Heroes for Hire” history in the comics. Superpowers are not always easy to use. Antagonists are pursuing you, and there is an entire social hierarchy of individuals who will battle you simply for your strength or cunning. Life is not simple. And with everything you possess breaking all the time because you don’t know how strong you are, Sweet Christmas, there has to be a way to pay the bills. Luke Cage founded “Heroes for Hire,”  a superhuman security and private investigative firm.

Once Iron Fist joined the team, the firm only became better. Heroes and anti-heroes who are all simply trying to make a livelihood and do good deeds for the city usually make up the team’s revolving lineup.

Will Finn Jones Return as Iron Fist?

Jones would have his way and put Danny Rand’s yellow cowl back on. During Heroes Dutch Comic-Con, he spoke with The Nerd Shepard, a Dutch publication, and mentioned that he was in a position in his career where he would “like to continue to grow with Iron Fist.” But he would prefer to work as a dynamic team with Mike Colter’s Luke Cage rather than for a third season of Iron Fist. Danny appeared in Luke’s second season as a guest star because the two got along well enough. According to Jones, it’s a wise move to collaborate with Colter to reunite their characters in a Heroes for Hire program and restore their close friendship from the comics.

“I’d love to see the chemistry between me and Mike again,” he said, “I believe there are a lot of amazing stories that could be told with those characters, and I believe it would be the best course of action if they brought Mike and I back to do a Heroes for Hire TV series.”

We’re all in favor of Mike Colter returning, but not so excited about Finn Jones. In contrast to Colter, Jones appears to be forthcoming with information and not hinting at a possible role in an upcoming film. He told Nerd Outlet that he had “no expectations” from the entertainment industry in general. He thinks it is “just impossible to have expectations in this industry” given COVID and the Hollywood strikes.

A small issue exists, though: since 2022, teenage Lin Lie has become the comic book character Iron Fist. Lin has appeared in miniseries and events throughout the previous few years, and his whole life seems to be a prelude to his eventual live-action debut. It might take some time before Marvel places Iron Fist in the lead role given that Shang-Chi is nearby and has greater franchise potential. He and Danny aren’t in each other’s spheres of influence, but that could always change.

Do Danny Rand and Jones share the same place in the MCU as Punisher and Daredevil? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
