1. James Gunn’s Superman Movie Has Found Its Clark Kent and Lois Lane | Gizmodo
James Gunn always does amazing casting choices. So, after months of auditions, it’s exciting to hear that he’s cast Superman and Lois Lane for his upcoming movie. David Corenswet, 29, and Rachel Brosnahan, 32, are the two leads of Superman: Legacy, set to release on July 11, 2025. Corenswet, a newcomer to big screen blockbusters, has previously appeared in Pearl and We Own This City. Brosnahan, who recently finished the final season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, is her biggest role yet. The film’s release is expected to be awaited by the casting of Lex Luthor and Jimmy Olsen.
2. Star Trek: Picard Movie Gets a Disappointing Update | Den of Geek
Star Trek fans have expressed their hopes for a fifth Next Generation movie based on Picard, following the cancellation of Star Trek: Prodigy from Paramount+ streaming service. The third season of Picard brought back the captain and his most famous senior officers, including Ro Laren and Elizabeth Shelby.
Season three showrunner Terry Matalas has been open about calling for a continuation called Star Trek: Legacy, which would follow Captain Seven of Nine on the Enterprise-G while also checking in on Admirals Picard and Riker, Head of Starfleet Medical Beverly Crusher, and others. Patrick Stewart has embraced the idea and pitched more of it during an interview with Indiewire. He believes that a Picard-based movie could succeed where other TNG films have failed, as new interactions and character development have been in place.
However, Stewart admits that he hasn’t had much traction with the studio, and he acknowledges that a Picard movie requires Paramount to make Trek fans happy, which apparently isn’t their business model at the moment.

The leak may not have sealed The Flash’s as a box office flop, as not everyone who saw the tweet watched the film or saw it during its opening weekend.

9. RUMOR: ‘The Flash’ Wanted Christian Bale To Cameo As Batman | Heroic Hollywood
The Flash, a film known for its controversial cameos, has faced controversy due to the revival of deceased actors and subpar CGI. The cameo was cheesy anyway so it’s a good thing he passed on it.
10. Idris Elba Says Bond Casting Rumors Led to ‘Disgusting’ Backlash: ‘It Became About Race’ | Indiewire
Idris Elba who played Heimdall in the Thor franchise, has faced backlash for the rumor of playing James Bond. He says its “huge compliment” until discussions over his race tainted it. Elba acknowledged that the idea was a compliment, but that discussions over his race became disgusting and off-putting. He clarified that playing Bond is not a personal goal for his career but will satisfy the will of a nation.
Elba believes that being the first Black Bond needs to happen and that the growth of casting choices is great for the industry. Bond producer Barbara Broccoli confirmed Elba has been part of the conversation for casting but revealed that the replacement for Daniel Craig’s Bond will be a younger actor in his 30s. What’s sad is the same thing happened when he was cast as Heimdall opposite Thor. Hopefully this sort of thing will happen less and less often.

Not surprised Prodigy got cancelled. It wasn’t bad but probably didn’t have enough for older fans and too complicated for kids. The Legacy show might be an ok idea but most of the TNG cast should probably just retire. The third season of Picard did make me want a Worf spinoff.
Not going to watch another Futurama revival. I love the show but enough is enough.
