Mini-Review: Immortal X-Men #11 is one of the best issues yet, combining Kieron Gillen’s character work with Lucas Werneck’s excellent artwork and intrigue. It uses Storm, once hailed a literal god, to cast judgment on those whose games allowed Sinister’s nightmare timeline to become a reality for a millennium. Gillen’s depiction of Storm at her righteous best and self-righteous worst is beautiful character work, combined with Werneck’s excellent artwork and intrigue.

Together they created a new adventure for Wally and his friends, while also putting his new baby in danger. The stakes are high, and the different heroes jump in for an exciting final adventure under Adams’ guidance.

Mini-Review: Star Wars: Return of the Jedi Lando #1 is a fun caper story that showcases Lando Calrissian’s adventures in Jabba’s Palace. Fans are familiar with Lando’s antics as a supporting character, but this book puts him front and center in some of the liveliest scenarios imaginable. The stakes are relatively low for this outing, but it manages to find the right balance between delivering on expectations and taking the story in new directions. We’re disappointed that this was only a one-shot, but we’re hopeful that this is just the beginning of how he will be integrated into the core Star Wars title.

Mini-Review: Batman #135 is an epic conclusion to the current Batman arc, featuring justice, combat, and storytelling with a spoonful of heart. It is a celebration of the Dark Knight’s 900th solo issue, with a superstar art team and scripting that sings. It sets up an emotional status quo for the Dark Knight and cements Jimnez as one of the greats when it comes to illustrating the hero.

Mini-Review: Star Wars: Darth Vader #33 picks up where the last issue left off, with Darth Vader feeling a disturbance in the Force that causes his power to go berserk. The comic’s story and themes are a little repetitive, but this book shows more than it tells and is satisfying from start to finish.

Mini-Review: Edge of Spider-Verse #1 is a hit with two stories that are both well-crafted in different ways. The first story, Spider-Rex, is a breath of fresh air with humor and action, while the second story, Spider-Killer, is dark, twisted, and well-written.
