Captain America: Civil War – Falcon (Anthony Mackie) |
Anthony Mackie is not a fan of the new Spider-Man. Tom Holland plays Peter Parker / Spider-Man in the MCU and he’s done some scenes with Anthony Mackie who plays Falcon in Captain America: Civil War, Avengers Infinity War and Avengers 4.
Mackie makes outlandish comments, but this one is so consistent it makes you wonder how much of an act it is.
Mackie was at a panel at MCM Comic Con in London last weekend and had some choice words for his co-star. “He’s an a******.” Mackie said, “I mean, this dude is awful. He’s the kind of dude that looks like he wears tighty-whities.
“Men, you know what I’m saying? You’re at a bar and you’re talking to a girl and some guy walks up and starts talking to her – you say to yourself, ‘I bet this dude wears tighty-whities.’ That’s Tom Holland.”
On the The Late Show With Stephen Colbert in August he “joked” about his hatred for the 21-year old saying “It’s just a problem. He’s a wildly annoying person. It’s impressive.”
Colbert asks “What is annoying?”
“Everything.” Mackie says, “He’s so little. He’s like a Shih Tzu. It’s like ‘Hey, Anthony, xfdsafdsaaaaa!’ I’m like ‘Tom, just stop. Take off the Spandex. Stop. It’s too much, man. It’s too much.'”
On Entertainment Tonight he explained how it started saying Holland wouldn’t stop talking on-set.
So far Tom Holland is taking it in stride although you can see it’s getting to him. When he was doing an interview with Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays Doctor Strange, Mackie came in with a “juice box” for Holland.
They joke around, but you can tell Holland’s patience is wearing thin. We’ll see if an upcoming Falcon vs. Spider-Man movie is in the works. Falcon lost the fight against Spider-Man in Civil War. Maybe he’s looking for a rematch.
What do you think? Does Mackie really hate Holland?

There's probably a thread of truth in it. Kids that age tend to be worth a few choice asterisks.
Tell us how you really feel, Anthony. As TS said, probably some truth in it. Just not sure I'd say it.
On the surface it sounds like a WWE kind of thing, but there is probably some real feeling too.
