Season 3 of Supergirl starts next month and The CW has released a teaser for the new season. One new season three villain will be Robert DuBois who goes by the name Bloodsport.

Bloodsport is the name for three villains in the DC comic universe. The character first appeared in Superman #4 (1987) and was created by John Byrne and Karl Kesel. He’s an African-American mercenary named Robert DuBois. After learning that his brother took his place in the Vietnam War and became a quadruple amputee he has a nervous breakdown. He becomes obsessed with the Vietnam War and, after being armed with high-tech weaponry by Lex Luthor hunts down Superman with Kryptonite bullets.

According to the casting notes DuBois is an “evil and threatening Merc” who’s “an ex-military man who has infiltrated his former base and stolen a variety of articles that he uses to cloak an underwater nuclear device.” You can see that he some kind of electric blade, so he’ll definitely be packing.

Here are some screencaps from the trailer.

Honestly, I’ve never been too excited about Supergirl, but it looks like next season is taking the show to a new level.

    About Supergirl TV Series

Official Synopsis: “Thirteen-year-old Kara escaped the doomed planet Krypton with her parents’ help at the same time as the infant Kal-El. Protected and raised on Earth by her foster family, the Danvers, Kara grew up in the shadow of her foster sister, Alex, and learned to conceal the phenomenal powers she shares with her famous cousin in order to keep her identity a secret. Years later, Kara was living in National City and still concealing her powers, when a plane crash threatened Alex’s life and Kara took to the sky to save her. Now, Kara balances her work as a reporter for CatCo Worldwide Media with her work for the Department of Extra-Normal Operations (D.E.O.), a super-secret government organization whose mission is to keep National City and the Earth safe from sinister threats. At the D.E.O., Kara works for J’onn J’onzz, the Martian Manhunter, and alongside her foster sister, Alex, and best friend, Winn Schott. Also in Kara’s life are media mogul Cat Grant, James Olsen, a photo journalist who moonlights as Guardian, a masked vigilante, Lena Luthor, and Mon-El of Daxam, whose planet was ravaged by Krypton’s destruction. As Kara struggles to navigate her relationships and her burgeoning life as a reporter, her heart soars as she takes to the skies as Supergirl to fight crime.”

Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers / Supergirl, Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winn Schott, David Harewood as J’onn J’onzz, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Chris Wood as Mon-El, and Floriana Lima as Maggie Sawyer

Being a feminist nothing pleases me more than seeing women play these kind of lead roles! Wonder woman has set some example, I hope more shows and movies like these take the bar higher!
