Last week the season 8 finale of Doctor Who aired and it was filled with amazing moments. The one that absolutely broke our hearts was the death of [SPOILER]. If you haven’t watched the last two episodes, then go no further and watch “Dark Water” and “Death in Heaven”. Come back when you’re done. If you don’t care about spoilers then read on after the jump.

    SPOILER WARNING

So, if you’ve seen the episodes, then you know that Danny Pink (Samuel Anderson) died, was turned into a Cyberman and then sacrificed himself to save the world. On top of all that, he gave up his chance to return to save a boy he killed in war.

    1. We Never Saw it Coming

Lots of people die in Doctor Who, so we fully expected him to come back. Even the actor was shocked saying in the “Dark Water” Extra Episode, “Yeah, I picked up the script and I died, I didn’t think anyone died in Doctor Who. I was like, ‘Excuse me?’ I didn’t expect that at all when I started…The story line is tragic, man, but it’s beautiful.”

    2. He Was a True Hero

Yes he was a soldier, but he was also a leader and a true hero by giving up his life and love for others.

    3. Interracial Relationship

It’s one of the few interracial relationships on television and was a surprisingly normal one considering.

    4. Danny Pink Was a Nice Guy

He was nice, sweet and forgiving which is everything Clara needed and deserved.

    5. Danny Pink Never Got Along With the Doctor

His past as a soldier clashed with the Doctor’s aristocratic attitude and there were always fireworks when they got together.

    6. Clara Loved Him

Clara loved him. Not in a simple way, but with all her heart. She was willing to do anything to keep him. She’s been through enough pain and didn’t deserve another heartbreak.

Try not to put spoilers in the comments, but what did you think of the episodes? Will you miss [REDACTED]?

If I'd watched more than one episode I'd be bummed.

I don't watch the show, so I avoided the bummage.

no one dies in Doctor Who… they don't, they can jump around the time loops and bring him back… He was a nice guy until he returns, I thank him for his sacrifice.

I find it fascinating Dr Whos Tardis is a grown telepathic entity which is in effect alive.
