The Super Bowl may not scream geek, but there’s something even sportsphobes can enjoy, which are the commercials. There weren’t many geek friendly ads this year, but a few stood out. Here’s nine for us geeks.
1. Doritos Time Machine – Doritos created a clever ad involving a little kid, a gullible adult, and time travel.
2. Buckle Up: Cosmos – The Internet’s beloved astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson is going to be hosting a revival of the classic TV series, Cosmos. The Super Bowl gave us a sample.
3. Transformers: Age of Extinction – The fourth installment of the impossibly huge Transformers franchise is coming, and we got a glimpse of it at the Super Bowl. Michael Bay is back and bigger than ever with more transforming cars and even Dinobots.
4. The Amazing Spiderman 2 – The sequel to The Amazing Spiderman is coming, and we got another taste of it. In this trailer, we get to see Gwen falling, Electro, Rhino, and a quick shot of…the Green Goblin? Already?
5. Terry Crews and the Muppets – The Muppets Most Wanted is coming, but in the meantime, a breakdown of the Muppet’s vehicle leads funny strongman Terry Crews to save the day.
6. Captain America: The Winter Soldier – The Super Bowl saw a patriotic themed trailer for Cap 2. There’s not much here that’s new in these trailers, except for a few extra shots of Falcon, which I’m jazzed about.
7. Audi Doberhuahua – What would happen if you crossed a Doberman and a chihuahua? You get a freakish mutant dog apocalypse, brought to you by Audi.
8. The Truth by Kia – What if I told you that Lawrence Fishburne returned to the Matrix for a commercial? Kia managed to squeeze him back into the black trench coat to show Morpheus as he takes us down the rabbit hole of luxury automobiles.
9. Jaguar’s British Villains – Have you ever noticed how all the great villains are British? Jaguar brought together Ben Kingsley, Tom Hiddleston, and Ben Strong to explain why.
.
Which commercial was your favorite? Is there one you liked that you missed?

Not all that enthused about any of those. I'm surprised they didn't manage to wedge the whole Sinister Six into the Spider-Man movie. Guess they're saving a little something for the sequel.
The Audi one was just disturbing.
What's geeky about Muppets?
Everybody likes Muppets
Technically they are. Sony already announced plans for a Sinister Six movie
Doberhuahua.
i closed my eyes… wait that was the game.
Loved the muppets, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
The Doritos time machine was great. And I loved the Cap 2 trailer. The rest… Didn't do much for me.
