Doctor Who (2013) “Day of the Doctor” – “The Doctor” (Matt Smith, David Tennant, John Hurt) Source |
Are you looking forward to the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special “The Day of the Doctor”?
It’s time for the results of last times poll and the new question.
Last week, two epic trailers for the 50th anniversary special of the British science fiction television show Doctor Who were released. If you’re a Doctor Who fan then you’re as excited as I am! If you’ve never seen the show then this episode might change your mind.
I’ve embedded the two trailers below in case you haven’t seen them.
Normally, we’d do an “Everything We Learned…” post breaking down the trailer, but I wanted to turn it around. What did YOU notice in the trailer? Any spoilers? Any surprises? Any hidden Easter Eggs you spotted? What’s your favorite part?
Here’s this week’s question:
The official synopsis is “The Doctors embark on their greatest adventure in this 50th anniversary special. In 2013, something terrible is awakening in London’s National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. All of reality is at stake as the Doctor’s own dangerous past comes back to haunt him.” It stars Matt Smith(Eleventh Doctor), David Tennant (Tenth Doctor), John Hurt (The War Doctor) and his companions Jenna Coleman (Clara Oswald) and Billie Piper (Rose Tyler).
“The Day of the Doctor” airs worldwide on November 23, 2013 in both 2D and 3D and in select theaters. Find your local listing at Doctorwho.tv.
Here are the results of last times poll:
The results of last week’s poll – Will X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Be the Best in the X-Men Series? – is that most of you think the next X-Men movie will be much better than X-Men (2000), X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) and X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009). The movie will be slightly better than (2013). Days of Future Past will be about even with The Wolverine, X2 (2003) and X-Men: First Class (2011). 6% of you aren’t sure whether Singer’s next X-Men movie will be better than any of them.
Are you looking forward to “The Day of the Doctor”? What did you notice in the trailers that we may have missed?

Doctor who? No, who is the man's name. Abbreviated Abbett & Costello routine.
MUST… NOT EXPLODE…FROM THE EPICNESS THAT IS WAITING ON NOVEMBER 23RD!
Oooh this is exciting!! I really love that show. Well, whenever I get the chance to watch it. We have a Dr Who on Saturdays and Sundays, so it sucks when I work on the weekend. I should just by the DVDs..lol YAY! for 50th Anniversary. Oh, boy!! I need to go bribe someone so I can watch this..hahaha
See? I'm too excited, my sentences aren't making sense.. I meant We have a Dr. Who marathon on Sat & Sun.. 😀
Oh YES! I'm very excited. I'm pretty new to Whoville—I've watched most of 11 and have just started on 10 and I get tingly thinking of the two of them together. 🙂
On a side note, I don't hate the "new" Doctor Who, but I would love to bring Tom back.
I never got the appeal of this show.
John Hurt makes everything the best thing ever. Must I say this repeatedly?
How did the marathon go CeCe? 🙂
I worked on the weekend last week, so I missed my usual DR Who Marathon. Having such a great time watching the 50th Anniversary episode. 🙂
Too bad, but there's always a good time for a Doctor Who marathon! Day of the Doctor was awesome indeed.
