Who played the best Bane? What do we learn about women from Star Trek: The Next Generation season one? What if Anakin hadn’t gone to the Dark Side? Which original trilogy actor is confirmed for the next Star Wars film?

STAR WARS
Long lost pic of Carrie Fisher as Slave Leia via Blastr (It doesn’t look like her to me. But what do I know.)
Mark Hamill told ET no one’s signed on to the new Star Wars movies: “They’re talking to us. George [Lucas] wanted to know whether we’d be interested. He did say that if we didn’t want to do it, they wouldn’t cast another actor in our parts – they would write us out. … I can tell you right away that we haven’t signed any contracts. We’re in the stage where they want us to go in and meet with Michael Arndt, who is the writer, and Kathleen Kennedy, who is going to run Lucasfilm. Both have had meetings set that were postponed — on their end, not mine. They’re more busy than I am.
“I’m assuming, because I haven’t talked to the writers, that these movies would be about our offspring — like my character would be sort of in the Obi-Wan range [as] an influential character. … When I found out [while making the original trilogy] that ultimate good news/bad news joke – the good news is there’s a real attractive, hot girl in the universe; the bad news is she’s your sister – I thought, ‘Well, I’m going to wind up like Sir Alec [Guinness]. I’m going to be a lonely old hermit living out in some kind of desert igloo with a couple of robots.'” (via io9)

STAR TREK
What I wish I could unlearn from Star Trek TNG / 1: Women are equal to men. In theory
ARROW
Emily Bett Rickards computer geek character Felicity Smoakwill change during the show now that she’s joined Oliver in his crime-fighting.
“Her lines won’t necessarily blur, but they start to shift. They start to change over the course of getting deeper and deeper into it. As soon as you witness some of the seedy things happening, you can’t un-witness them. There’s an innocence that’s lost. She’s doing this to find Walter. She has strict morals. She doesn’t want to see good people get hurt and die. She starts to have more respect for what they’re doing because they’re trying to protect the city. [But] there’s the question always in her mind: Who am I becoming? Should we be giving these people a chance to redeem themselves?”

Ooo! A firefly cake! I want Jayne's hat. Have a wonderful weekend.
Great cover Alex. I'm glad Hamill set the record straight. We'll still get the rumors though.
Pat io9 asked do we really want to see Han Solo easing into the chair of the Millennium Falcon? I say no. Mandarin looks freaky.
Thanks Jeremy. What has been seen cannot be unseen
You too Mpax and thanks for coming by.
Love that Firefly cake! And thanks for sharing the link for The Geek Anthropologist. What a terrific essay. 🙂 And I'm with you, that pic looks nothing like Carrie Fisher.
