What’s the name of the villain in Star Trek Into Darkness? How much did a movie poster sell for? Who says Batman doesn’t have a sense of humor? Which minor Star Wars character became popular thanks to the Star Trek movies?

Actor Suing IMDb For Revealing Her Age

Hoang Huang (known in the industry as “Junie Hoang”) is suing IMDB for publishing her real age. She says they “misused” her personal credit information when she when signing up for a Pro account. She says that IMDb also uses the website PrivateEye.com to get information about actors for their database. The Vietnamese actress is known for her youthful appearance and says the site has hurt her career.

“When a casting director knows my real age, I am either not called for an audition for a youthful role, or I don’t get the part after I audition,” she tells the judge. “When I audition for roles that are near my age, casting directors reject me for looking too young.” She’s 39 by the way.

    Superman

Deadline spoke to Amy Adams about her take on Lois Lane in Man of Steel: “I grew up with Margot Kidder as Lois Lane,” offers the actress, “so I didn’t want to try and be that version. Zack [Snyder] said that he wanted to play for more realism. There’s definitely still banter [with Superman]. She’s tough, modern, and more contemporary. There’s also a lot more action than I’ve seen in my career.”

    Pacific Rim

Pacific Rim, starring Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day and Ron Perlman

    Release Date: July 12, 2013

Synopsis:When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes–a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)–who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Samuel L Jackson said he’d come back for the sequels. Here’s how: “I’m not surprised but totally geeked by the idea of there being more Star Wars. It’s like, okay, Obi-Wan was dead when episode four started, so maybe everyone thinks I’m dead and we’ll find out what happened to Mace Windu. I can come back as one-armed or a one-handed Jedi that’s still around that didn’t actually die. I could do that or be a ghost hologram. I don’t care, I just want to stay associated with the franchise.”

In 2010 Katie Goldman was bullied by her classmates for using a Star Wars water bottle. The Internet rallied around her and created Star Wars Wear and Share Day on December 14th.

    Here’s how to celebrate:

1.Wear something Star Wars or science fiction-related.

2.Donate a Star Wars or science fiction toy to a child in need (but please put a post-it note on the new, unwrapped toy specifying that it can go to a girl or a boy; otherwise, these traditional “boy toys” will be given only to boys). You can bring the toy to a hospital, a shelter, or drop it off with any charitable organization collecting toys.

    Trivia

After Superman, who was the second superhero to get a self-titled comic book series?  (ie, not “Action Comics,” “Detective Comics,” etc. but named for the hero him/herself, like “Superman”.)

    A.  Batman

    B.  Blue Beetle

    C.  Wonder Woman

    D.  Captain America

    Star Trek

(Left to right) Zachary Quinto is Spock, Benedict Cumberbatch is John Harrison and Chris Pine is Kirk in STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS from Paramount Picture. Paramount says Cumberbatch plays a villian named John Harrison. I don’t believe it at all.

Hey, thanks for posting Ellie's video! She will be thrilled.
Saw the exclusive trailer for Pacific Rim this week. It's going to be amazing. Robots and monsters – every boy's dream!
And that is one heck of treehouse.

    2. Pat Dilloway on December 14, 2012 4:19 pm

They should give the bad guy in Star Trek's name as "Guy Incognito." That Pacific Rim movie keeps making me think of the terrible movie "Robot Jox" though the plot also sounds a little like that Real Steel movie too.

And poor Blue Beetle gets no love anymore.

    3. jeremy [retro] on December 14, 2012 4:49 pm

i want to one of those tree-houses and blue beetle is getting a comeback… i have an advance preview. actually if you guys want i am happy to share my connections… they send me lots of comic book previews. i was thinking about adding comics to my site and never did. let me know…

    4. jeremy [retro] on December 14, 2012 4:51 pm

sorry it's the black beetle… not blue… i just looked.

    5. Maurice Mitchell on December 14, 2012 8:26 pm

Ellie did a great job. Especially for her first time! All my dreams will have robots and giant monsters now Alex.

    6. Maurice Mitchell on December 14, 2012 8:29 pm

I just imagine Homer with the mustache Pat. Robot Jox. Shudder… Is the new Blue Beetle better than the original I wonder?

    7. Maurice Mitchell on December 14, 2012 8:30 pm

Jeremy you should do a comic feature once a month. Geeks Unite!

    8. Tyrean Martinson on December 14, 2012 11:08 pm

Junie Hoang looks amazing – wish I had looked like at 39, or now just a few years later. There's a lot of good links and info! I've seen some of the new movie trailers and 2013 looks like a good year!

    9. Maurice Mitchell on December 15, 2012 2:07 am

Tyrean, I thought 2012 was awesome, but 2013 looks like a winner. She does look great too. Junie could easily pass for 26.

    10. spacerguy on December 15, 2012 1:23 pm

I was amazed to see Samuel L.Jackson playing Mace Windu in Star Wars. His movie characters are usually so compelling and outgoing but I guess his geek can't resist the lure of Star Wars!

    11. Lydia Kang on December 15, 2012 3:15 pm

I can't get over how cute that name is. Cumberpatch! Ha ha. Looking forward to this one!

    12. Tony Laplume on December 15, 2012 6:45 pm

There were comments at my midnight showing of "The Hobbit" that pointed out how "Pacific Rim" is basically the Power Rangers.

I wholeheartedly endorse Samuel L. Jackson's campaign for Mace Windu!

John Harrison, whoever he turns out to be, should be interesting. Even if it turns out to be similar to Miranda Tate, one of the unacknowledged brilliant moves of "The Dark Knight Rises" was how it revamped our understanding of Ra's al Ghul and the League of Shadows.

    13. Liesel Hill on December 17, 2012 2:31 pm

Great links! I hadn't ever heard of Pacific Rim before, but it looks totally awesome! Loved the tribute to Alex Cavanaugh, and can't wait for the next Star Trek movie! 😀

    14. Maurice Mitchell on December 18, 2012 4:52 pm

Liesel, Pacific Rim looks better everytime I see it. Good stuff to link to this week.
