Happy Star Wars Prequel Appreciation Day [Announcement

The Star Wars prequels have divided Star Wars fandom worse than the light side versus dark side. Are the prequels a worthy addition to the series? Did the prequels destroy the series? Are they just okay, but nothing special? Well, today is the day that we all stand on the side of “prequels are awesome.” It’s Star Wars Appreciation Day! It’s also the 10th anniversary of the release of Attack of the Clones.

    • One of the biggest promoters of the prequels is the Star Wars Prequel Appreciation Society.
    • Celebrate Star Wars Appreciation Day on Facebook with other prequel lovers.
    • Read others’ expressions of appreciation at the theforce.net forums
    • Big Shiny Robot celebrated the release of AOTC a day early

Here at geektwins, we’ve come down on both sides on the prequels, but here are some very pro-prequel posts we’ve featured:

      • Go Behind the Scenes of the Battle of Kasshykk
      • 14 Things You Probably Didn’t Know About Count Dooku
      • 8 Biopic Movie Posters Featuring Jar Jar Binks
      • 7 Undeniably Awesome Moments in the Star Wars Prequels

How will you celebrate Star Wars Prequel Appreciation Day? What happy memories do you have about the prequels?

I'd have to work hard to remember a really happy memory! When the last one finally ended? Not a big fan of the second three. Didn't ruin the others for me though.

I love the prequels. Thanks for supporting them.

Never saw anything but the original and the one with Yoda. I was disappointed when I came back years later to watch the first one and I don't remember much of anything about the 2nd film. No celebrations here I guess.

I am an original fan. Definitely could have done with out the prequels. Yet, my little guys LOVE the prequels. Go figure. Even our family is split. ๐Ÿ™‚

          Shocking confession…

        6. monkeymigraine on May 17, 2012 4:22 pm

I have to admit, my wife (who never saw the original trilogy until after she saw the prequels) finds the originals beyond boring. Bad special effects and not enough lightsabers. And my toddlers won't even sit through the first half-hour of the originals. So the prequels are definitely more for the modern age
