The Avengers: Doomsday Easter Egg You Probably Missed

Marvel may have revealed a major clue in Avengers: Doomsday promo

The Mouse-House can make fans watch chairs for hours, but most fans missed something.

Marvel’s Doomsday cast announcement broke the studio’s previous record for the most views for the first Deadpool & Wolverine trailer, garnering over 275 million views and 3.1 million social media mentions. The broadcast was the second most popular stream on YouTube 24 hours after its release. However, when Marvel trimmed the event to less than two minutes to share on Twitter, no one wanted to experience the magic again.

According to this week’s Avengers: Doomsday cast revelation, the X-Men will be a significant part of the film. Since Kevin Feige began his career as an associate producer on the 2000 film X-Men, we have long assumed that this is the strategy.

In addition to Deadpool & Wolverine’s Channing Tatum (Gambit), the film has already landed X-Men franchise actors Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), James Marsden (Cyclops), and Kelsey Grammer (Beast).

The studio’s ability to retain much of the hold it has had on pop culture for the past nearly two decades is demonstrated by the general pessimism surrounding Marvel’s output at the moment, which includes the post-Endgame pivot to Disney+ and the recent disappointment of Captain America: Brave New World receiving mediocre reviews. It’s possible that any other studio with the audacious confidence to force viewers to watch for more than five hours to catch a glimpse of Robert Downey Jr. and foldable chairs would have burnt up and collapsed, but here we are.

According to rumors, Incursion will pit Earth-616’s Mightiest Heroes against the X-Men, which means that the most recognizable actors will play those parts in an Avengers vs. X-Men film.

Is the possibility of those teams fighting next year already hinted to by Marvel Studios?

As you can see below, many fans are confident they’ve seen a shadow in a photo that followed the live feed, which depicts an “A” and a “X” sitting on top of each other. If it seems excessive, you might want to think about Avengers: Endgame again.

Joe Russo revealed in a recent interview why he and Anthony returned to the MCU. “What’s compelling about these two new Avengers movies is they’re a beginning,” he said. “It’s a new beginning. We told an ending story, now we’re going to tell a beginning story.”

Although it was a surprising discovery, it was consistent with the rumors that Avengers: Secret Wars would subtly reboot the MCU and establish a new Sacred Timeline that the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Avengers would all call home.

Regarding what lies ahead for them at Marvel Studios after that, Joe stated, “Who knows where we’ll go from there? Maybe it will be another five years. I think we just needed that time and perspective to figure out where it needed to go next, and the only thing that brought us back was the right story.”

There are still rumors that the Russos will be directing the X-Men revival.

Avengers: Doomsday will be released in May 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars will be released in May 2027. On Marvel’s official Instagram account they shared the following photo.

“That’s what you call a deep bench of talent…actually it’s more like a row, but an extra long one…that must be it…right?” Marvel Studios quickly responded to what Downey Jr. had to say about the initiative in the comments section of Marvel’s Instagram post:

    “There’s always room for more…”

How long can they make us watch chairs this time? Does it confirm that the movie will be an X-Men vs Avengers?
