See (Almost) Every Change to “Star Wars” Original Trilogy

Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (1977) – Comparison

It’s no secret that the re-edits George Lucas made over the years have divided fans. Some of the Star Wars changes are wonderful like better lightsabers and enhanced colors. Some of the changes to Star Wars are awful like having Han Solo step on Jabba’s tail while he stand there like a moron.

    YouTube user Marcelo Zuniga
has put together a wonderfully comprehensive series of videos that show
the changes made in the various releases of the movies since 1997. io9
says that it’s all the changes to Star Wars but that’s not true. As we showed before in our infographic, the changes have been happening since as early as 1977.
There were minor changes in cuts, wipes and dialogue from theater to
theater and even on laserdisk. But these videos are pretty
comprehensive and the best way to objectively judge the the revisions
    to the films.

All Changes Made to Star Wars: A New Hope (Comparison Video) PART I

“A comparison video comparing all changes added into Star Wars Episode
IV: A New Hope from 1981 to this very day. This video is purely
objective and I’ve refrained from making any kind of strong opinion on
anything, its here to show off all the changes as far as I know of
while presented in an organized, relatively chronological order of the
    film.” – Marcelo Zuniga

“That being said, the original Star Wars has received the heaviest
treatment of changes out of all three, easily. Some minor, others more
prominent and even infamous. This video was extra tricky since there
are a number of changes that are exclusive to some releases. Note every
major Star Wars release analyzed in this video:

    -Theatrical Cut (1977)

    -Special Edition (1997)

    -DVD Trilogy (2004)

    -Blu-ray Trilogy (2011)” – Marcelo Zuniga

Which do you feel is the worst change to the Star Wars movies? Which do you feel is the best change to the Star Wars movies?
