Sony has released the first trailer for the MIB sequel/reboot Men in Black: International (2019).
The trailer follows Agent M (Tessa Thompson) as she gets suited up in the last suit she’ll ever wear. She meets Agent O (Emma Thompson) and heads off to MIB UK. There she meets the napping Agent H played by Thor Ragnarok co-star Chris Hemsworth.
From there we see a bunch of familiar items from the MIB franchise like the sunglasses, noisy cricket and the memory-wiping neutralizer. The car, now a snazzy Lexus instead of a Ford POS sports the red turbo button, but also hides an arsenal of weapons. The worm guys make a brief cameo.
The best part of the trailer if the small hammer that Hemsworth throws at an alien. Which is a clever nod to his role in the Marvel Universe as Thor.
While this movie is being billed as a reboot it’s also a quasi-sequel. Agent O was head of the US branch of MIB in Men in Black 3. Plus, if you look close you can see a painting of Agent J and K fighting Edgar the Bug on the right.
