Marvel is kicking off a bold new era with a series of X-Men comics that take mutantkind back to school—literally. X-Men United is shaping up to be a massive comic event, combining returning fan-favorite characters, new storylines, and a school-centered setting that promises to impact the entire X-Men universe.

    Creative Team

The X-Men comic books are created by Exceptional X-Men writer Eve L. Ewing and illustrator Tiago Palma (New Avengers). According to Marvel editor Tom Brevoort, this new series “forms the centerpoint of the mutant world,” marking it as a major 2026 relaunch and not to be confused with the 2004 film.

Writer Eve L. Ewing described her time crafting the book as “some of the most fun I’ve had writing comics ever.”

    Why This Series Is Massive

X-Men United is considered a massive new entry in the X-Men universe because it brings together iconic characters like Wolverine, Magneto, and Rogue with new faculty members at Greymatter Lane, Emma Frost’s school designed to advance mutantkind to the next stage of evolution. The series is part of Marvel’s “Shadows of Tomorrow” initiative, which will shape multiple X-Men storylines, and it is expected to tie into the MCU, influencing upcoming Avengers films. With its mix of classic characters, high-stakes drama, and universe-wide impact, it’s poised to be one of the biggest X-Men releases in years.

    Story Overview

The school provides a hub where major mutants can fight, collaborate, and explore new relationships, offering fans a mix of nostalgia and fresh narratives. With psychic-enhanced areas of Greymatter Lane, the storytelling can become “bizarre and strange” while keeping the classic Xavier’s School atmosphere fans love.

X-Men United #1 hits shelves on March 11, 2026. Read more at Marvel.com.
