There will be a new name for Spider-Man 4! Along with a revised release date, the first information on Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been made public.
Fans have been anxiously awaiting any updates regarding the impending sequel since it was announced that Spider-Man 4 would begin production within the next month or two. Although fans didn’t anticipate much from CinemaCon, Spider-Man-related news has been reported there in the past. Because of this, fans were both excited and disappointed when the project’s name was changed to Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
At CinemaCon 2025, where trailers and titles for several earlier Spider-Man movies have been shown, Tom Holland announced from video. The actor shared a short video while filming Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey on location, stating that Brand New Day represented “a fresh start” because Peter Parker’s life had been somewhat restarted after Spider-Man: No Way Home. Additionally, a new release date has been set for Spider-Man 4. The project’s original release date was July 24, 2026. In addition to being retitled Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the movie has been postponed by one week till July 31st. It’s not an absurdly long wait (like its modern counterpart Beyond The Spider-Verse), but it’s long enough for some Spider-Man fans to feel impatient as the end of next summer draws near.
Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed the critically acclaimed indie movie Short Term 12 and Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, was also present. He disclosed that working on the movie every day has been extremely special for him since his son’s first word was “Spider-Man.” The movie will be filmed this summer.
Why Was the Name of Spider-Man 4 Changed?
Spider-Man 4 is by no means the only Spider-Man movie to change its moniker after production got underway. Indeed, they have all. But Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks a significant turning point for the franchise. Specifically, it abandons the “Home” naming scheme that marked the previous MCU trilogy, indicating that the sequel will be a far cleaner break than some fans had anticipated.
More significantly, however, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has a striking resemblance to One More Day, one of the most notorious Spider-Man comics ever published. Fans conjectured that the MCU might adapt the contentious tale in order to reverse the events of No Way Home, even before Spider-Man 4 was revealed. This is probably the most fans will receive for a while, even though it isn’t official confirmation of the adaptation.
Naturally, there are still a lot of unanswered questions. Who else appears in this film? Sadie Sink is playing who? Is it a grounded story or a multiverse film? We’re not sure. Simply said, it’s a brand-new day.
How do you feel about the title? How about the logo? Looks more like something from a comic book. Please share your thoughts in the comments section and return throughout the week for more CinemaCon 2025 updates.
