ICYMI #205 – Baron Zemo First Look, Russo Bros Celebrate James Cameron and More

What ancient setting could Eternals be set in? Which DC movie star just started “Make a Wish”? Which star is telling fans to “Chillaaxx”? What did the Russo brothers tell James Cameron?

We can’t always cover everything. So here’s everything you missed this morning Wednesday, July 24, 2019. In Case You Missed It (ICYMI).

    1. ETERNALS: Possible First Set Photos For The Marvel Movie Tease An Ancient Setting | Comic Book Movie

While it was initially believed that these had been built for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, it’s since been established that they’re for Eternals, and, as you can see, it looks like an ancient Aztec temple is being built with a statue of some sort in front of it.

    2. SOCIAL MEDIA: Aquamoa a big-hearted | Redditt – /DC_Cinematic

“My first [Make a Wish Foundation] I will do this for life.😍😍😍😍 Such an amazing day with Eva Eros and Kalice and all the ohana. Mahalo Warner bros for setting up an amazing tour for these beautiful children All my aloha j” – Jason Mamoa Instagram

    3. CBS/Viacom Merger Announcement Expected Soon – Star Trek Re-Unification Cited As Factor | Trek Movie

Some insiders — only on deep background, but with a straight face — say that putting Star Trek back under one roof is, indeed, one important reason to reunite Viacom with CBS, much like Disney has worked hard to keep as many Marvel characters as possible in its singular House of Mouse. For that matter, Mission: Impossible also could use some continuity, as Viacom has the films while CBS ran the original series from 1966 to 1973.

    4. Daniel Brühl shares new look at Baron Zemo from Falcon & the Winter Soldier | Jo Blo

“Longing, Rusted, Seventeen, Daybreak, Furnace, Nine, Benign, Homecoming, One, Freight Car. Zemo is getting ready #SDCC” – Daniel Bruhl Instagram

The look is inspired by unused concept art for Captain America: Winter Soldier by Andy Park

    5. Wesley Snipes Implores Angry ‘Blade’ Fans to “Chillaaxx” After Marvel Studios Reboot News | /Film

“To all the DAYWALKERS losing their minds right now, chillaaxx. Although the news comes as a surprise, it’s ALL GOOD. Such is the ‘business’ of ‘entertainment!’ Much peace to the MCU crew – always a fan,” Snipes says. “Honor and respect to the grandmaster Stan. Congratulations and Salaam to Mahershala Ali, a beautiful and talented artist whose expressions I look forward to experiencing for many years to come. Inshallah, we will someday work together. Most importantly to my loyal fans, the incredible outpouring of love is overwhelming. I am grateful for the never-ending support. So, ‘nah fret nah worry, it’s not de end of de story.’ Welcome to the Daywalker Klique.”

    6. The 100’s Tasya Teles Opens Up about Echo’s ‘Heartbreaking’ Origin Story | TV Guide

“I think that’s been a big part of what’s missing in her storyline, you know? Everybody has a sense of history or at least some sort of story of where they came from, and she was the only one that nobody knew anything about. We all hypothesized and I obviously didn’t develop as much as I could, but I was so curious and so excited to see how the writers were going to elaborate on this and what they were going to bestow upon her and whether that lined up with what I had researched about traumas that made sense in terms of how she’s developed as an adult. So, it was awesome and I was really looking forward to it and it was kind of going back and forth. This season has been so big and there’s been so much new territory to cover that I was worried that we weren’t going to get an opportunity to peek into her backstory but, lo and behold, we did.”

    7. JOKER Film Skipped SDCC, Opts for Film Festival Run | Newsarama

“In a fractious social moment, a lot of these stories are about characters looking for empathy or ways to connect,” said TIFF’s artist director/co-head Cameron Bailey. “These films don’t directly address what’s happening, but there seems to be a recognition that we are living in difficult times.”

    8. Disney Forces Fox To Hand Over Control Of Deadpool To Marvel | We Got This Covered

Deadline reports that 20th Century Fox Film vice chairman Emma Watts will remain where she is and continue to steer Fox’s film division, despite widespread rumors that she may be poached by Paramount or Warner Bros. However, Watts has been forced to relinquish control of Deadpool and other such superhero properties to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.

    9. Marvel Studios D23 Announcement Promises Sneak Peek At Phase 4 Films | Heroic Hollywood

To no one’s surprise, it was announced on Tuesday that Marvel Studios will also be present at The Walt Disney Studios Hall D23 Presentation. Marvel Studios might reveal even more about their upcoming Phase 4 films at the D23 presentation, which will take place Saturday, August 24, 10 a.m. – noon PT.
