“Raising Dion” short film |
Black geek culture is facing a new renaissance with black-created movies like “Black Panther” breaking records and black superheroes getting more attention than ever before.
Recently Ashley Nkadi wrote a piece for The Root entitled “A Guide to Fantasy and Science Fiction Made for Black People, by Black People” and it’s an amazing list.
From short films like “The Forever Tree” and “Raising Dion” to books like “Redemption in Indigo” and comics like “Legend of the Mantamaji”, you can spend hours exploring the majesty of the culture.
It’s well worth your time to read it and even better to spend your time exploring the entries.
What do you think of the list?
