Black Panther (2018) – Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Shuri (Letitia Wright)

Find out when the first reactions and reviews will be allowed by Marvel for the Black Panther movie.

In the last few weeks, many fans were treated to advanced screenings of Black Panther. Plus, many professional critics have seen pre-release screeners of the movie so they have time to write reviews in time for the movie general release on February 16, 2018.

    • Social Media Embargo: Tuesday, January 30th at 1 AM EST
This embargo prevents the individual from posting anything on social media ahead of the requested date. Also, after the date, the person can give general opinions but no specifics about the plot or any other “spoilers”.
    • Full Review Embargo: Tuesday, February 6th at 12 PM EST
This embargo prevents the individual from posting anything on social media ahead of the requested date. After the date, the person or organization can share professional opinions on the film and full reviews.

Also, note that the film will be released in the UK a full week early on February 9, so be wary of spoilers.

Of their last four releases, Doctor Strange’s review embargo dropped 2 days ahead of its release.  Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2′s dropped 11 days ahead. Spider-Man: Homecoming’s review embargo lifted 8 days before. Thor: Ragnarok’s embargo was lifted a little more than 2 weeks in advance.

So look for audience reactions starting next week Friday on February 9, 2017.
