Star Trek: The Next Generation (1994) – Captain Picard Day – Captain Pipcard (Patrick Stewart) |
Here are some awesome ways to help Sir Patrick Stewartcelebrate “Captain Picard Day.” According to the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode “The Pegasus” Captain Picard Day was an annual event held aboard the USS Enterprise-D
for the ship’s schoolchildren. Part of the celebration involved a
contest where the children would make paintings and models of the
captain and he had to choose a first, second and third place winners
and four honrable mentions. What makes it funny was that Picard was
obviously uncomfortable about the event. Of course, that meant the crew
loved it. “I’m a role model” Picard nervously told Admiral Blackwell.
Since 2007, fans have
celebrated Captain Picard Day on June 16th every year. The stardate
mentioned in the episode, Stardate 47457.1, is roughly equivalent to
June 16th. This year we thought it would be fun to have a virtual
Captain Picard Day. So, for the next 12 hours make a craft and send a
picture to Sir Patrick Stewart himself. He’s on Twitter as @SirPatStew on Facebook at Patrick Stewart.
