GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Gamora Has a “Heart of Gold” Says Zoe Saldana

The latest Marvel featurette focuses on Gamora from the Guardians of the Galaxy
movie. Zoe Saldana plays Gamora and gets to explain her
take on the “green-skinned humanoid who is the last of a species that
was exterminated by a race known as the Badoon. She also happens to be
    a skilled assassin.”

Kevin Feige described her role last year saying, “When we meet Gamora
(Zoe Saldana), she’s a bad guy working with Ronan and Nebula (Karen
Gillan) and Korath (Djimon Hounsou), and by extension for Thanos.
Gamora doesn’t necessarily like doing that anymore, and tries to find a
new path for herself. But she has such a reputation as the deadliest
woman in the galaxy that people aren’t greeting her with open arms.”

Guardians of the Galaxy Gamora casting raised some eyebrows last year, but her role as that killer in Colombiana silenced any critics over her action movie chops.
If this movie is a hit the Dominican actress with have a starring role in three major franchises: Star Trek, Avatar, and now, a Marvel superhero. She’ll be the new “Queen of Sci-Fi.”

    Guardians of the Galaxy
stars Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace,
Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Michael Rooker, John C. Reilly, Glenn
Close and Benicio del Toro. It opens August 1, 2014

What do you think of Gamora? Are you looking forward to Guardians of the Galaxy?

As long as she is sexy and kicks butt, she will rock the part.
She already had the Sexy down!

Zoe Saldana… she is a doll, I am crossing my fingers… this film gets the Marvel Magic. I will not listen to any critics, cause most of them are not worthy enough to criticize a hole in the ground.

    3. Unknown on July 14, 2014 6:57 pm

I'm glad they're giving her a chance because she hot and I love her character.

    4. LDianeWolfe on July 14, 2014 10:14 pm

She's going to own the tough sci-fi chick roll here really soon.

    5. Rusty Carl on July 15, 2014 1:46 am

This just has to be one amazing movie. If it isn't I'm going to be very disappointed.

Space is the final frontier for superhero movies Pat.

    7. Maurice Mitchell on July 15, 2014 1:55 am

I'm sure most critics won't understand this film but I'm going in eyes wide open Jeremy.

    8. Maurice Mitchell on July 15, 2014 1:56 am

She's got a lock in it until Michelle Rodriguez becomes a superhero L.

    9. Tony Laplume on July 15, 2014 8:04 pm

Last week I realized this movie could be very, very good. I like Disney's Pirates movies. Avengers was thisclose to being Pirates. This looks like it'll be closer. So I'm more excited about it now.

    10. John Garrett on July 16, 2014 2:00 pm

Never been a fan of Zoe, and I'm not liking what I see of this movie so far…however…I really like this incarnation of the Guardians (At least I did when it was Abnett & Lanning writing the comic), so I'm going to simply hope that I'm wrong and go see the movie anyway.

I have to admit I've liked pretty much everything Marvel has been putting out movie-wise after Avengers, so I'm going to give them a chance to make me a believer with this one.

    11. Maurice Mitchell on July 16, 2014 2:43 pm

It could Tony! It will either be the best or the worst Marvel film. I can’t see it being anywhere in between.
