Everything You Need to Know About STAR WARS REBELS, the Best STAR WARS Show Ever [Television]

Here’s all you need to know about the upcoming animated series Star Wars Rebels.

I never really liked Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
It was OK, but it never really grabbed me. I only watched it because it
was Star Wars. Sure it had lightsabers, space battles and some
characters I sorta cared about, but it just didn’t feel like Star Wars. But Star Wars Rebels feels like Star Wars.

    About

    Official Synopsis from StarWars.com: “It
is a dark time in the galaxy, as the evil Galactic Empire tightens its
grip of power from world to world. As the series begins, Imperial
forces have occupied a remote planet, ruling with an iron fist and
ruining the lives of its people. But there are a select few who are
brave enough to stand up against the endless Stormtroopers and TIE
fighters of the Empire: the clever and motley crew of the starship
Ghost. Together, this ragtag group will face threatening new villains,
have thrilling adventures, and become heroes.”

Star Wars Rebels: Ignite on Disney Video

    Fast facts

    • The show takes place 14 years after Star Wars Episode III.
    • The series picks up 5 years before Star Wars (1977).
    • The show will tell the beginning of the Rebel Alliance from a small group to a galaxy-wide army.
    • The Rebels fly in a ship known as “Ghost” which is heavily inspired by the Millennium Falcon.

Sabine – Mandalorian explosives expert and artist – is voiced by Tiya Sircar

    Hera Syndulla –
the Twi’lek Ghost’s pilot and owner – is voiced by Vanessa Marshall

    Fast Facts

    • Kanan is called “the cowboy Jedi”
    • Zeb is based on Ralph McQuarrie’s original conceptual designs for Chewbacca.
    • Chopper gets his name because his name C1-10P looks like “CHOP.”
    • Chopper’s design is based on early conceptual artwork for R2-D2 by Ralph McQuarrie
    • Sabine is an artist and “tags” Imperial facilities with ani-Imperial slogans and messages

    The Villains

    The Empire

Inquisitor, the dark side Force-sensitive agent tasked by the Empire with hunting down the last of the Jedi.

    Fast Facts

    • Inquisitor is a Pau’an from the planet Utapau

    When?

    Autumn 2014 on Disney XD

What do you think about Star wars Rebels? Will it live up the the greatness of the original trilogy?

Some cool animation. Not sure it's something I would watch though.

    2. Pat Dilloway on February 24, 2014 3:07 pm

One thing that annoys me is with the original trilogy it was always assumed Vader destroyed the Jedi but really with the third prequel and now this Vader hardly did anything at all. It kind of dilutes the character's bada$$ factor.

    3. DAVID WALSTON on February 24, 2014 3:20 pm

I will watch it because its Star Wars, and my son will "Make" me. (yeah, I still would have watched it even if I didn't have a son) I agree with Pat, I still like the Idea of Vader hunting down the remaining Jedi like Obi Wan said to Luke in Episode IV.

    4. Maurice Mitchell on February 25, 2014 3:29 am

Yeah Pat. Obi-Wan specifically said that Vader killed the Jedi, but maybe he meant the younglings. I never thought of it that way before.
