ABC’s Avengers spin-off Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has already been confirmed for a full season, and the network got all the geeks salivating with a teaser video. It has lots of black suit-wearing buttkicking, a super-powered villain (possibly Luke Cage), and Coulson’s car. But of course, the most exciting part is that we get to see the beloved Agent Coulson back in action.
Here’s the official description of the show:
Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary. Coulson’s team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), highly trained in combat and espionage, Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) expert pilot and martial artist, Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker); brilliant engineer and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) genius bio-chemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is new recruit and computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet). From Executive Producers Joss Whedon (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”); Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” pilot co-writers (“Dollhouse,” “Dr.Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog”); Jeffrey Bell (“Angel,” “Alias”); and Jeph Loeb (“Smallville”) comes Marvel’s first TV series. “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television.
But of course, with Joss Whedon behind the show and Agent Coulson back from the dead, everyone is asking the big question – how soon will Summer Glau be doing a cameo on the show? First episode? Third episode? Mid-season? And which character will we fall in love with that Whedon brutally murders? Oh, and some other people are wondering how Coulson is still alive.
What do you think of the teaser? Are you excited about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.?

All right, that looks badass!
If he's still alive it's got to be a prequel. Since SHIELD just showed up in Iron Man there's plenty of room to explain how it came to be. Also that's a good reason for why we won't see Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, and the Hulk.
It would be odd to make Luke Cage the bad guy. Just saying.
