If you’re looking to cheer yourself up, then watch the opening of this horror movie. Halloween had John Carpenter’s terrifyingly simple theme song. Nightmare on Elm Street had Freddy’s making his fierce claws. Scream had the death of major characters.

Most horror movies try and scare you from the beginning. All except the opening for Beware! The Blob (1972) which opens with a happy, bubbly theme and bunch of kittens playing in a field of grass.
Last week, we lost the great actor Larry Hagman. He was in the classic sitcom I Dream of Jeannie and the prime-time soap opera Dallas, but his greatest contribution was directing this “feel-good” horror movie opening.
So, if you’re in a bad mood, are scared or depressed, watch the opening of the terrifying horror movie Beware! The Blob. It’ll cheer you right up.
Happy trails Larry Hagman. Thanks for giving us a horror movie we can all be happy about.
Is this the happiest horror movie opening you’ve ever seen?

I'm stunned Larry Hagman has passed, He was great, so full of life. His character JR will live on forever.
