In January 2015, Sam Wilson became Captain America for the first time in the comics. Steve Rogers was turned into an old man after having the Super Soldier serum extracted from his body. Steve selects Sam Wilson to be Captain America after he returns to his natural age.
Sam is paired with Steve Rogers’ son Nomad after his partner, the New Falcon (Joaquin Torres), is momentarily sidelined. The two battle to defend a group of refugees attempting to flee the fighting as the war in Mohannda rages on. Nomad and Sam argue about Captain America’s strategies after he buys them time to get to their covert headquarters. They find that Sam’s activities in Wakanda are directly related to what and who they are up against, in addition to seeing a familiar face among the other members of the resistance.
Captain America: Symbol Of Truth #8 features detailed art, thrilling action, and emotional moments. It tackles the harsh realities faced by Captain America in a Marvel Universe-style context. However, the talky nature could have been improved by having more visuals. The dialogue is wonderful, character renderings are beautiful, and the exposition in the last act is near-perfect.

10. All-New Captain America #5 (2015)

As this “mini” series comes to an end, the All New Captain America regrettably embarks on his final solo act. I have been informed that the title is coming to an end, but I am unable to verify this. We have come closer to the character we previously referred to as the high-flying Falcon thanks to Sam Wilson’s amazing voyage as Captain America.
The fast-paced narrative is continued in Issue Five, which also features stunning cinematic imagery. As Sam Wilson amplifies his “Aquaman”-like skills to a biblical level, we learn more about his enigmatic “aviary” abilities. When Sam clutched the cosmic cub, the Red Skull, the longtime Captain America villain, gave him the ability to speak and manipulate any sort of bird life.
All-New Captain America #5 is an action-packed thriller that emphasizes Sam Wilson’s potential as the new Captain America. Rick Remender and Immonen have been delivering great work, with big action, emotional moments, and HYDRA smashing. The first page of the issue demonstrates Sam’s worthiness in both words and deeds. Despite criticisms, Remender continues to demonstrate Sam’s worthiness. The first arc of All-New Captain America feels like a fresh new take on a long-time character, with Remender thoughtfully creating an exciting new status quo for an Avenger.

9. The United States of Captain America #5 (2021)

Since its initial issue, The United States of Captain America has mostly been a narrative about America: how it has been divided and shaped, how sinister our past is, and how complex we are as a nation, including our heroes. A “truckload” of Captains America, Nazis being punched, and America being saved—all with optimism for a better, more hopeful future—are among the many satisfying elements in this final issue of the series. The book cleans up finer than it should in many respects. At the same time, though, it seems like the message we need—the hope and the recognition that we are stronger as a nation.
The United States of Captain America #5 is a thrilling story that acknowledges the strength of the people together. It introduces new heroes and emphasizes Captain America’s role as a hero for the people, not the government. The artwork saves the book from cliches and missed opportunities, but the diversity bait and switch is a common issue in the industry. The series is a strong, patriotic issue and may be a litmus test for fascist sympathizers.

8. Captain America: Sam Wilson #16 (2016)

After his entire life has been completely upended three times since assuming his new duty, Sam Wilson receives a well-earned respite in Captain America: Sam Wilson #16. He is given a break by Misty Knight, who has been working with him in an admittedly complex partnership the entire time.
The case that Misty was given in the issue initially surprised me a little. Why must sex crimes be at the center of the conflict in a novel that has a large number of female characters? She could have stood up to a slumlord or even the head of a radical political party that openly discriminates against women of color just as readily. However, they are intriguing tales, and Misty is more than capable of delving into them.
Issue #16 of the Sam Wilson series provides a comprehensive overview of Misty Knight’s past, including her affiliations with various superhero teams, her relationship with Danny Rand, and her investigative skills. The story is enjoyable, with great art and a fun portrayal of Misty as a badass. The issue also features a glimpse of Rosario Dawson/Claire and introduces some 90s characters. The Sam Wilson title offers a fun twist with a comic book twist, bringing back some characters from the 90s, making it an interesting series.

7. All-New Captain America #4 (2015)

After Steve Rogers was depowered, Marvel Comics made a drastic change by deciding to give Sam Wilson the title of Captain America. In addition to the racial issues it brought up, Wilson is a whole different person with a completely different set of powers. Therefore, it was a wise move on the part of Rick Remender to not only give him the shield but also to drastically change the suit in order to capitalize on his unique set of abilities. In keeping with all good Marvel recastings and renumberings, Sam has been thrown into the deepest end of the pool and instructed to stop drowning. Baron Zemo has unveiled his most radical scheme in a long time to sterilize the world’s “undesirables,” or everyone without his cure.
The All-New Captain America #4 is a strong, adrenaline-filled comic book featuring a classic villain and quality twists and turns. The cliffhanger in the end leaves the audience eager for the next issue, proving Remender and Immonen’s expertise in the title. The book and series have heart, drama, and suspense, making it a perfect super-hero comic book. The first arc for Captain America is in good hands, with Sam in good hands.

6. All-New All-Different Avengers #10 (2016)

Previously in All-New All-Different Avengers Nova recently learned that his real father was still missing in space and that the guy he believed to be his father was actually an alien shape-shifter. Although high-end space travel isn’t exactly within the budget, the Avengers offered to assist Nova in her quest for him. Nadia, the daughter of Hank Pym and his first wife, was the new Wasp that Jarvis brought to meet the rest of her family in the meanwhile.
This issue is a great great example of the team dynamic. Great leadership skills. Fun and interesting as they try to work out the puzzles. The Waid/Asrar ANAD Avengers #10 is a fast-paced, classic Avengers story with a “young vs. old” group dynamic and low-budget approach to superheroing. The team’s strengths are used to their advantage, and the story balances team heroes with intimate emotional arcs. The color scheme, in-character banter, and transitioning to the cliffhanger are impressive. This is the first time the Avengers are in space, and the introduction of their next villain is intriguing.

5. Captain America: Symbol Of Truth #11 (2023)

Captain America: Symbol of Truth #11 concludes Sam Wilson’s first major story arc, pitting him against White Wolf, who has been behind the scenes for the previous ten issues. The comic book explores real-world issues while maintaining its superhero roots. The dynamic art and fantastic action make it a thrilling and pugilistic showdown.
The fight between Sam-Cap and White Wolf lived up to the hype. With the Captain America event “Cold War” approaching, Symbol of Truth #11 neatly closes things out with a furious, poignant altercation. Additionally, it was good to see White Wolf in action after only seeing him in the background. Speaking of which, Sam more than competes even in the absence of super-soldier serum.

2. Captain America: Sam Wilson #12 (2016)

A flashback of Steve Rogers entering a police precinct and requesting to meet a prisoner opens the issue. Was he going to see someone he had imprisoned? Not at all. Once more, he was there to save Sam from jail after a bigoted police officer thought the person of color in the costume must be the bad guy, even though he was merely attempting to prevent a robbery. Steve tries to apologize on behalf of all white people, but Sam dismisses it as just another day of the same old routine. Even though I haven’t read enough of Captain America’s past issues, it’s easy to see this as a recurrent theme in their life.
Nick Spencer has done a fantastic job of analyzing the various social justice problems that America is currently facing. His enemies are nasty, wealthy white guys with conservative, far-right views. They demonstrate their power by using the Americops, an elite, violent police squad that is literally on the point of striking a character who represents black rage. There’s also great use of Wilson’s ability to connect with birds.
The story of Captain America, Sam Wilson, is a challenging and important exploration of the world outside our window. The story follows Sam’s growth as Captain America, as he navigates between his actions as a black American man and his role as a symbol of hope and justice. The chapter highlights the fragile line between protests and riots, as well as the downsides of both sides of the conflict. The story also serves as a lead-in to the #givebackthesheild story with the return of John Walker, the U.S. Agent and former Captain America himself. The distinct art style sets the story apart and adds to the overall enjoyment of the story.

It can be emotionally taxing to be Black in America. Tragedies that disproportionately impact us as a people frequently cause us to grieve as a nation. One of them has been police violence for decades, but in recent years, it has gained more attention. That suffering and the numerous individuals it affects are examined in Captain America: Sam Wilson #18. In fact, it’s the best issue to explore those themes.
In issue #17, Rage, a character representing Black discontent, is arrested by the Americops, a privatized police force supported by extreme right-wing moneybags. The militaristic police organization escalates their harassment of people of color. Sam Wilson, using a surveillance system with a backup database, investigates the incident. The issue explores the debate of whether to reveal the brutal incidents or bury them to avoid public outcry. The constant stream of videos showing black people being injured or killed by police has taken a toll on the community. Should Wilson release one more?
Captain America: Sam Wilson is a relevant superhero series that explores the experiences of people of color when dealing with police and the justice system. The series builds on the last issue, with Sam Wilson facing a choice between suppressing truth to avoid turmoil or uncovering corruption. The art is superb, and the story arc is the strongest of all.
