1. Stellan Skarsgård Praises ‘Enormous Sets’ on ‘Dune: Part Two’: ‘You Feel It in Your Body’ | Indiewire
Stellan Skarsgard praises the “enormous sets” in Dune: Part Two (2023) as yet another reason why practical effects outnumber green screens. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor compared the impending Denis Villeneuve-directed sequel to the Disney+ series Andor from the Star Wars franchise. The production of “Andor” developed a complete outdoor city for the series, similar to the large-scale realistic effects of “Dune.”
2. The Flash Director Says The Weird Visual Effects Choices Were Intentional | Slashfilm
In the new superhero film “The Flash,” the title character (Ezra Miller) discovers he can run so fast that he can travel to another dimension. The Flash is encircled by a protective bubble at the bottom of what appears to be an operating theater or tiny gladiatorial arena in said dimension, which he names the Speed Force. The arena is known as the “Chrono Bowl” in comic book language. A whirling CGI mess of pictures representing numerous little moments in the past surrounds the Flash in the Chrono Bowl. He can fast-forward and rewind through these photos at will, and then choose a time window from which to exit. The Flash then bursts out of his bubble and travels back in time.

Avatar 3, the next installment in the franchise, has had its release date pushed back to 2025. Saladana, who plays Neytiri, noted the new date on her Instagram story, noting that she will be 53 when the last Avatar comes out. The intense CGI required for each installment has been blamed for the delays.
4. ‘Batman: Brave And The Bold’ To Be Directed By Andy Muschietti; Inks First-Look Deal With Warner Bros | Deadline
The Flash has not yet opened to $100 million, but Warner Bros is already celebrating with its filmmaker Andy Muschietti and producer-sister Barbara Muschietti. DC co-bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran have set Muschietti to direct their Batman movie Brave and the Bold, and Warner Bros Pictures and Warner Bros Television Group/Max have inked separate multi-year first-look deals with the Muschiettis and their Double Dream banner. The Muschiettis are also working on the It prequel series Welcome to Derry for HBO.
5. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds EPs Explain Why Their Klingons Look Different From Those in Discovery | Tvline
The Klingons’ finalized look in Strange New Worlds was a slight redesign due to “some things that made it easier for producing.” Co-showrunner Akiva Goldsman, who also executive-produced Discovery, explains that both shows have their own unique vibes. The transporter room and bridge don’t look like Discovery’s, and the bridge doesn’t look like Discovery’s. Goldsman explains that they took the original series and extrapolated into an imagined version of it, creating a more classic Klingon.
6. ‘Superman And Lois’ Cuts 7 Cast Members; Michael Cudlitz Promoted To Regular | Heroichollywood
Fans were worried Superman & Lois would get the axe due to its high budget. While the show has been renewed for a fourth season at the CW, some of the supporting cast members have been cut due to budgetary concerns. Dylan Walsh (General Sam Lane), Emmanuelle Chriqui (Lana Lang), Erik Valdez (Kyle Cushing), Inde Navarrette (Sarah Cushing), Wolé Parks (John Henry Irons a.k.a. Steel), Tayler Buck (Natalie Irons), and Sofia Hasmik (Chrissy Beppo) were among the cast members eliminated from Superman And Lois.
The only remaining season one cast members are Tyler Hoechlin (Clark Kent), Elizabeth Tulloch (Lois Lane), and Alex Garfin (Jordan Kent), with Michael Bishop replacing Jordan Elsass as Jon Kent in season 3. Michael Cudlitz’ Lex Luthor has been promoted to a series regular in their place.
7. Sony sets release dates for two mysterious Marvel movies | Joblo
Not to be forgotten, Sony has its own Marvel Universe (known as Sony’s Spider-Man Universe) and a complete slate of projects in the works. The studio stated that they have set November 8, 2024 and June 27, 2025 as release dates for two untitled Sony/Marvel films.
The next Sony Marvel movie will be Kraven the Hunter, which stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, and Russell Crowe. The Madame Web movie starring Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeny will hit theaters in February 2024. The El Muerto movie starring Bad Bunny could be a candidate for one of these new dates.
8. ‘Star Wars’ Director James Mangold Reveals Film Will Be A Force Origin Story | HeroicHollywood
The “Dawn of the Jedi”, a new chapter of the mythos before the Old Republic, was revealed for James Mangold’s Star Wars project. The director announced his intention to create the “Ten Commandments” of the Force, a kind of genesis myth about how the Force came to be known, understood, wielded, and harnessed. Regardless, Mangold has the knowledge to rework classic characters for modern tastes, and his story will undoubtedly be one of a kind in the galaxy far, far away.
9. ‘The Incredible Hulk’ Is Finally On Disney+ | ScreenCrush
The Incredible Hulk is the strongest Marvel hero, but his cinematic resume is a bit on the weak side. His first film, 2003’s Hulk, was a commercial flop, but 2008’s The Incredible Hulk remains one of the most poorly reviewed films in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Little by little, The Incredible Hulk has become more important to the fabric of the MCU, with Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk appearing in the Avengers movies, Tim Roth’s Abomination appearing in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and Liv Tyler’s Betty Ross and Tim Blake Nelson’s Leader appearing in Captain America: Brave New World. Disney+ announced today it’s adding The Incredible Hulk to its library, starting tomorrow. The “Hulk Collection” on Disney+ includes the other MCU movies where Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk appears, along with the MCU short films “The Consultant” and “Team Thor Part 1” and two MCU TV series: What If…? and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
But if you search for “Hulk” you can also find the ’90s animated series, the 2010s cartoon Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H., and the animated movies Iron Man/Hulk: Heroes United and Hulk: Where Monsters Dwell. At this point the only Marvel Hulk content missing is Ang Lee’s Hulk but no one’s missing that one.
There has been rampant speculation that this means the live action rights for the Hulk have been restored to Marvel from Universal but only time till tell.
10. Giancarlo Esposito Joins Radio Silence’s Secret Monster Movie At Universal | Deadline
Giancarlo Esposito has joined the cast of Radio Silence’s Untitled monster thriller at Universal, joining Melissa Barrera, Alisha Weir, Dan Stevens, Kevin Durand, Kathryn Newton, Angus Cloud and Will Catlett. The script was written by Stephen Shields, with revisions by Guy Busick. Tripp Vinson will produce with Radio Silence and Project X, which are coming off the success of Scream VI. Jay Polidoro, Holly Goline, Jacqueline Garell and Kelly Cannon are overseeing the project.
Esposito is coming off playing his Emmy-nominated role of Gus Fring in Better Call Saul and reprising his role of Moff Gideon in Disney+’s The Mandalorian.

At least playing a CGI alien, Saldana doesn’t have to worry about wrinkles and gray hairs showing.
I don’t really like Ang Lee’s Hulk but it had a few good moments. The animated Planet Hulk movie was good. I don’t know if they have that one as it and a Thor one were made through Lionsgate.
