Here are all the science fiction marathons airing television on July 4, 2019.
Tomorrow a lot of people will be out barbecuing. Because it’s a federal holiday most people will be out enjoying family and friends on this date. But if it’s too hot to sit outside or you and your friends just like catching a bunch of sci-fi movies together it’s also a great time for TV.
Here are all the sci-fi marathons running on July 4th, 2019. All airings are listed in the Eastern time zone.
Stranger Things 3 (Netflix)
The third season of Netflix’ original series Stranger Things is premiere on July 4th. There’ll be eight episodes released at the same time in Season 3 for your binge-watching pleasure. Get ready to go back into the Upside Down tomorrow.
Marvel StudiosX-Men movies (7 a.m. – 12:30 a.m., Friday, FX)
We know not all the movies with Marvel characters are owned by Marvel Studios but that’s not stopping this marathon! FX is running a Marvel marathon marrying movies from Marvel Studios, Sony and Fox. It’s scheduled to start with The Wolverine followed by X-Men: Days of Future Past, X-Men: Apocalypse, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Captain America: The First Avenger followed by Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Jurassic Park movies (11:43 a.m. – 7:30 p.m., USA)
The classic Jurassic Park trilogy that started the current Jurassic World soft reboot is coming to the USA network. The channel is scheduled to run a Jurassic Park movie marathon in an unusual order. It starts with The Lost World: Jurassic Park (Jurassic Park II), then jumps to Jurassic Park III before ending with the first one Jurassic Park. Why you’d want to watch the second movie before the third and first is a mystery to me.
Star Wars movies (10:50 a.m. – 10:58 p.m., TNT)
Five of the Star Wars movies are airing on Turner Broadcast television on July 4th. Not all eight though. TNT is scheduled to run Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Episode II: Attack of the Clones, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It’s cool that they put them in chronological order but sadly is missing the original trilogy.
So get ready to enjoy the fireworks and your favorite shows tomorrow.
